THE OLDHAM ROCHDALE ROAD HIGH CROMPTON PROHIBITION OF WAITING ORDER 2026
The Oldham Borough Council on 29th September 2026 made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which is to remove the 'at any time' waiting restrictions on the north east side of Rochdale Road, from a point 32 metres north west of its junction with Park Cottages (formerly Clegg Street) for a distance of 71 metres in a north-westerly direction and also on the north-east side from its junction with Park Cottages for a distance of 15 metres in a north-westerly direction, and to introduce 'limited' waiting restrictions Monday to Saturday between 8am - 6pm on the north-east side of Rochdale Road from 17 metres east of its junction with Park Cottages for 20 metres in a north-westerly direction where a vehicle can wait for a maximum of 3 hours and a no return of 1 hour. The Order will come into operation on 2nd November 2026.
A copy of the Order and a map showing the lengths of road referred to and a copy of the Council's statement of reasons may be examined between the hours of 8.40am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday at J R Clynes Building, Greaves Street Oldham, Telephone number 0161 770 1314 Ref:-JP/TO24/21/VF24007.
If you wish to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may within 6 weeks from the date hereof apply to the High Court for the purpose.
