Shropshire Council proposes to introduce the following speed limits in Chirbury:
30mph Speed Limit A490, Chirbury towards
Churchstoke
That length of the A490 Churchstoke to Welshpool Road from a point 164 metres north of its junction with the B4386 Chirbury to Montgomery Road to a point 140 metres southeast of its junction with the C5147 Chirbury to Whittery and Priest Weston Road.
40mph Speed Limit A490, Chirbury towards
Churchstoke
That length of the A490 Churchstoke to Welshpool Road from a point 140 metres southeast of its junction with the C5147 Chirbury to Whittery and Priest Weston Road to a point 260 metres northwest of the centre of the access to Marrington Hall and Lodge.
Any existing speed limits at the above locations will be revoked.

On 29 September 2026 Shropshire Council made an order to introduce a 20mph speed limit onto Sandpits Road, Ludlow, as follows:
Sandpits Road
From its junction with Henley Road to its junction with Livesey Road
Any existing speed limits at the above location will be revoked.
These changes will come into effect on 3 October 2026.
A copy of the order may be examined during normal office hours (8:45am-5:00pm Monday to Thursday, and 8:45am-4:00pm on Fridays) at Shropshire Council, The Guildhall, Frankwell Quay, Shrewsbury.
If you wish to question the validity of the Order, or any provisions in it, on the grounds that they are not within the powers conferred by The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within six weeks from 29 September 2026, apply for that purpose to the High Court.
