PROPOSED UPGRADE OF ZEBRA CROSSING AND TRAFFIC CALMING MEASURES
AT ST ANNE STREET – CHESTER
Notice is hereby given that, in accordance with Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Calming Regulations 1999 and following consultation with the Chief Officer of Police, Cheshire West & Chester Borough Council is proposing to install:
• New raised table and speed cushions on St Anne Street, Chester. The raised table to be approximately 21m to the west of the centreline of Lyon Street. The existing zebra crossing will be placed on the new flat top road hump at the same position. One set of cushions will be placed 20m west of centreline of Trafford St junction; and one pair 43m west of centreline of Henry Place. The new speed cushions and road hump will lower the speed of vehicles and allow pedestrians to cross the road more safely.
• Upgrade of the existing zebra crossing facility.
Full details of the proposed restrictions are in the draft Orders which, together with plans showing the extents of the proposals, may be examined on the Council Highways website at HQ Chester CH1 2NP and The Portal, Wellington Road, Ellesmere Port. CH65 0BA.

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC
TRO8884 – The Green in Chester
Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 that the Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit/restrict traffic on the following length of road in Chester to enable utility works to be carried out by Severn Trent Water.
THE GREEN – Nothing in the Order shall prevent driving upon the said lengths of road of any vehicle which is being used for the conveyance of persons goods or merchandise to or from any premises situate on or adjacent to the lengths of road or in connection with agriculture building construction works of repair and the like or use in an emergency of vehicles for fire brigade ambulance or police purposes. A through route will not always be available and any vehicles not requiring access to properties on the length of road should use the alternative routes.
The Order will come into force on 05/10/2026 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that the works will take approximately 6 weeks to complete.
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC
TRO8885 – Gawsworth Road in Ellesmere Port
Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 that the Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit/restrict traffic on the following length of road in Ellesmere Port to enable electrical works to be carried out by Manweb.
GAWSWORTH ROAD – Nothing in the Order shall prevent driving upon the said lengths of road of any vehicle which is being used for the conveyance of persons goods or merchandise to or from any premises situate on or adjacent to the lengths of road or in connection with agriculture building construction works of repair and the like or use in an emergency of vehicles for fire brigade ambulance or police purposes. A through route will not always be available and any vehicles not requiring access to properties on the length of road should use the alternative routes.
The Order will come into force on 05/10/2026 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that the works will take approximately 10 days to complete.
Alternative routes for through traffic – Traffic should proceed via: Overpool Road, Mill Lane, Hargrave Drive, vice versa.
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC

Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 that the Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit/restrict traffic on the following length of road in Chester to enable utility works to be carried out by Severn Trent Water.
LEA LANE – Nothing in the Order shall prevent driving upon the said lengths of road of any vehicle which is being used for the conveyance of persons goods or merchandise to or from any premises situate on or adjacent to the lengths of road or in connection with agriculture building construction works of repair and the like or use in an emergency of vehicles for fire brigade ambulance or police purposes. A through route will not always be available and any vehicles not requiring access to properties on the length of road should use the alternative routes.

A through route will not always be available and any vehicles not requiring access to properties on the length of road should use the alternative routes.
