On 28/09/26, Angus Council made The Angus Council (Newton Crescent and Bloomfield Crescent, Arbroath) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving and Waiting) Order 2026, under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, so that house building works may be undertaken. The Order will come into force on 05/10/26, from which date it is anticipated that the work will last for a period of 32 months, as the Council is satisfied that the execution of the works in question will take longer than the normal maximum of 18 months. The effect of the Order is to prohibit the driving and waiting of vehicles on the following roads in Arbroath: (1) Newton Crescent; the entire length of the cul-de-sac extending in a south-westerly direction from its junction with the main leg of Newton Crescent at a point 50m or thereby west of its junction with Newton Avenue; (2) Newton Crescent; the entire length of the cul-de-sac extending in a westerly direction from its junction with the main leg of Newton Crescent at a point 98m or thereby west then north of its junction with Newton Avenue; (3) Newton Crescent; the west side of Newton Crescent extending from a point 107m or thereby west then north of its junction with Newton Avenue in a northerly direction for a distance of 33m or thereby; and (4) Bloomfield Crescent; the entire access roadway leading to lock-up garages extending in a westerly direction from a point 26m or thereby south-east of its junction with Bloomfield Road. Pedestrians and vehicular access to properties is not affected by the Order. There are no alternative routes for traffic. Full details of the Order are available at www.angus.gov.uk/trafficorders.
