(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE)
ORDER 2026

The North Lanarkshire Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and of all other enabling powers, hereby make the following Order:-

1. This Order may be cited as “The North Lanarkshire Council (Alderston Bridge, Bellshill) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026” and shall be effective during the period from 0001 hours on Sunday, the eleventh day of October, Two thousand and twenty-six until 2359 hours on Friday, the thirtieth day of April, Two thousand and twenty-seven.

2. No person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of vehicles engaged on structural repairs) on the below noted roads –

James Street, Bellshill

Alderston Bridge from the A725 southbound on and off slip, westwards to the roundabout with the A725 northbound on off slip Belgrave Street, Bellshill

From the extended eastern kerb line of Clark Way, westwards to the roundabout with the A725 southbound on slip

Alternative routes: Vehicles on the east side of the closure wishing to access the west side of the closure should proceed via Belgrave Street, A721 Gartcosh Walk, B7001 Old Edinburgh Road, Melford Road, Earn Avenue and James Street.

Vehicles on the west side of the closure wishing to access the east side of the closure should proceed via James Street, Earn Avenue, Melford Road, B7001 Old Edinburgh Road, A721 Gartcosh Walk and Belgrave Street.

Given under the seal of the North Lanarkshire Council and signed for them and on their behalf by Rachel Blair, Chief Officer (Legal, Democratic and Strategy), at Motherwell on Monday, the twenty-first day of September, Two thousand and twenty-six.
