What is happening?

LONDON BOROUGH OF ENFIELD

Introduction of a 20mph Speed Limit in Harrington Terrace and Kipling Terrace

  1. NOTICE IS HERBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Enfield (the Council) on 28th September 2026 have made the Enfield (20 m.p.h. Speed Limit) (No. 4) Order 2026 under section 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

  2. The general effect of the Order will be to introduce 20mph speed limit in:-

    (a) Harrington Terrace, between a point 8.5 metres north-east of the common boundary of Nos. 37 and 38 Harrington Terrace and Kipling Terrace;

    (b) Kipling Terrace, the entire length.

  3. A copy of the Order, which will come into operation on 5th October 2026 and any other relevant documents can be:-

    (a) Inspected at the Town Library, 66 Church Street, Enfield EN2 6AX, Monday to Fridays 9am – 5pm inclusive, or online at: https://new.enfield.gov.uk/services/roads-and-transport/traffic-management-orders/ until the end of six weeks from the date on which the Order was made;

    (b) Obtained by emailing JourneysandPlaces@enfield.gov.uk; or by writing to Journeys and Places Team, Enfield Council, Civic Centre, Silver Street, Enfield, EN1 3XA (quoting reference TG52/1628).

  4. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulation made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
