What is happening?

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily to all users: Footpath 21 (Part), Box; from its junction with London Road for a distance of approximately 100m in an easterly direction to enable Compound and access to Box tunnel to carryout maintenance and refurbishment works to existing rail bridge.

Alternative route via signed route and vice versa.

The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.

This Order will come into operation on 05 October 2026 and it is anticipated that the closure will be required until 04 April 2027. Access will be maintained where possible although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 6 months.
