TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
A61 MAIN ROAD / HILLSIDE, HIGHHAM
WHEN: 19 October to 28 October 2026 (20:00 to 04:00 each night)
WHERE: A61 Main Road, Hillside, Higham between the Jct. of the B6014 Morton Road to the Jct. of Town End (Shirland).
REASON: To facilitate carriageway patching works.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: A61 to Chesterfield, A617 to M1 J29 Interchange, M1 J29 Interchange, A617 to Pleasley Hill, A617 to Sutton in Ashfield, A38 to M1 J28 Interchange, M1 J28 Interchange, A38 to Watchorn Interchange, Watchorn Interchange, A61 through Alfreton to point of closure and vice versa. Access will be maintained, whenever reasonably possible, on the affected length of road. The road will re-open as soon as the work is finished. This may be earlier than advertised. Anyone needing further information should ring Call Derbyshire on 01629 533190. The County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to prohibit its use by traffic.
