What is happening?

SHE/500 (PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS) ORDER 2026 (“the Order”)
EXTENSION
1. Sheffield City Council gives notice that the Secretary of State has granted an Extension to the Order made in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 (as amended) over the area of highway being SHE/500 from Hagg Lane to SHE/503.
2. The Extension to the Order was granted because of the likelihood of danger to the public.
3. The Order made on 2 July 2026 was approved by the Secretary of State and an extension to the Order will continue in effect until 31 December 2027 or until completion of the works, whichever is earlier.
4. While the Order is in operation it will prohibit any pedestrian from travelling in the length of footpath as described within paragraph 1 to the Order.
5. Access to adjacent properties will be maintained at all times.
6. The alternative route for the traffic affected by this Order will be via SHE/503 & SHE/111.
