TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
BIRKIN LANE, WINGERWORTH
WHEN: 21 October to 22 October 2026
WHERE: Birkin Lane, Wingerworth from a point 120m southwest of the Jct. with Malthouse Lane for a distance of 280m in a south westerly direction.
REASON: To facilitate manhole cover and frame renewal works.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Clockwise - Birkin Lane, A632 Matlock Road, High Lane, Harper Hill, Swathwick Lane, New Road, Birkin Lane. Anticlockwise - Birkin Lane, New Road, Swathwick Lane, Harper Hill, A632 Matlock Road, Birkin Lane.
Access will be maintained, whenever reasonably possible, on the affected length of road. The road will re-open as soon as the work is finished. This may be earlier than advertised. Anyone needing further information should ring Call Derbyshire on 01629 533190. The County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to prohibit its use by traffic.
