What is happening?
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(VARIOUS ROADS, PINXTON AND KIRKBY IN ASHFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING AND WAITING, LOADING AND UNLOADING) ORDER 2026 (A26-203)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Kirkby in Ashfield and Pinxton in the district of Ashfield.
The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road
a) Pinxton Road, Kirkby in Ashfield - For its entire length
b) Pinxton Lane, Kirkby in Ashfield - For its entire length
c) Kirkby Lane, Pinxton - For its entire length
2. Vehicles are prohibited from waiting, loading and unloading (both sides) (at all times) in the following length of road
a) Pinxton Road, Kirkby in Ashfield - For its entire length
b) Pinxton Lane, Kirkby in Ashfield - For its entire length
c) Kirkby Lane, Pinxton - For its entire length
3. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
4. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:
From 08:00, Monday 12th October 2026
Until 17:00, Sunday 6th December 2026 inclusive.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:
Pinxton Road, Kirkby in Ashfield - Church Hill, Kirkby in Ashfield - Church Street, Kirkby in Ashfield - Sutton Road, Kirkby in Ashfield - Kings Mill Road West, Sutton in Ashfield - Alfreton Road, Sutton in Ashfield - Mansfield Road, South Normanton - A38 J M1/b1069 Roundabout, Bolsover - Mansfield Road, South Normanton - Pinxton Lane, South Normanton - Alfreton Road, Pinxton - Town Street, Pinxton - Kirkby Lane, Pinxton - Pinxton Green, Pinxton and vice versa.
The Order will come into force on Monday 12th October 2026 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).
The prohibition is required to enable Severn Trent Water to carry out water mains installation works;
