Notice of Resolution to Execute Private Street Works

Wakedean Gardens, Yatton

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council, being the Street Works Authority for the purposes of Part XI of the Highways Act 1980, has resolved to execute street works in the private street identified above pursuant to Section 205 of the Highways Act 1980.

Inspection of Resolution and Approved Documents: A copy of the resolution authorising the execution of the proposed street works, together with the approved plans, specifications and related documents, may be inspected at North Somerset Council, Town Hall, Weston-super-Mare BS23 1UJ. During normal office hours (Monday to Friday 9.30am to 4.30pm, Saturday 9.30am to 2pm, Sunday closed). The documents will be available for inspection from Wednesday 30 September 2026 to Friday 30 October 2026. Written objections must be received no later than 30 October 2026.

Right to Object: Any owner of premises who may be liable to contribute towards the expenses of the proposed street works under the provisions of Part XI of the Highways Act 1980 may object to the proposal. Any objection must be made in writing, stating the grounds of objection, and be delivered to Highways Commissioning Service, North Somerset Council, Environment Assets and Transport Services, Town Hall, Weston-super-Mare BS23 1UJ or email: wakedean.gardens@n-somerset.gov.uk

This notice is displayed in accordance with the requirements of Section 205 and Schedule 16, Part 5 of the Highways Act 1980. Any person wishing to inspect the approved documents or make representations should do so within the period stated above.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – Section 14(1)

Notice of Temporary Traffic Regulation Order

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intend to make an order the effect of which:

Failand Lane, Bristol, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2027

Date coming Into Force: 11 January 2027

Ref: SW26.27-214

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach for duct laying. This order will become operative on the 11 January 2027 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 2 days in duration between 9.30am and 3.30pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – Section 14(1)

Final Notice of Temporary Traffic Regulation Order

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, have made an order the effect of which:

Station Road, Sheepway, Portbury, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026

Date coming Into Force: 12 October 2026

Ref: SW26.27-116

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by North Somerset Council for bridge structure strengthening works and resurfacing as part of the Metro West project. This order will become operative on the 24 November 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 113 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Schedule - Station Road from approximately 100m north of the junction with The Portbury Hundreds to the railway bridge. Sheepway from the railway bridge to outside Elm Tree Farm. Please be advised that this closure will follow on from the existing Sheepway closure.

Chapel Lane, Claverham, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Temporary Revocation of One-Way Order 2026

Date coming Into Force: 17 October 2026

Ref: SW26.27-131

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road. Additionally, to revoke, temporarily, the One-Way restriction specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach for overhead cabling work. This order will become operative on the 17 October 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures and restrictions may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 6 hours in duration between 9.30am and 3.30pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Schedule - Chapel Lane closed from outside property number 17 extending southbound for 15m. Revocation of One-Way on Chapel Lane for its full extents.

Dark Lane, Backwell, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026

Date coming Into Force: 12 October 2026

Ref: SW26.27-188

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Firmacore Limited for Persimmon Homes to install new gully storm drainage lines, new kerb lines and speed humps. This order will become operative on the 12 October 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 34 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.
