(Temporary Closing And Waiting Restrictions On Various Roads In Welwyn, Pottersheath And Peters Green) Order 2026
NOTICE is given that HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-
1. That length of Rabley Heath Road/Rabley Heath, Welwyn from its junction with Bury Road south eastwards to its junction with Pottersheath Road, a distance of approximately 1156m.
An alternative route will be via: Bury Road, Sally Deards Lane, Rabley Heath Road, B656 (Codicote Road/Link Road), B197 Great North Road, Canonsfield Road and Pottersheath Road.
2. That length of Pottersheath Road, Pottersheath from its junction with Canonsfield Road north westwards to its junction with District Boundary, a distance of approximately 864m.
An alternative route will be via: Canonsfield Road, Heath Road, B197 London Road, Bridge Road, Wych Elm Lane, Spinney Lane and Pottersheath Road.
3. That length of The Green, Peters Green from its junction with Kimpton Road south eastwards to its junction with Hyde Lane, a distance of approximately 111m.
An alternative route will be via: Kimpton Road, Luton Road, B652 Kimpton Bottom, Plummers Lane and The Green.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
The Order will come into effect from 19 October 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(Temporary Closing Of Porters End Lane, Wheathampstead/Kimpton) Order 2026
NOTICE is given that HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Porters End Lane, Wheathampstead/Kimpton from its junction with Sauncey Wood Lane north eastwards to its junction with Kimpton Road, a distance of approximately 1532m ("the Road").
An alternative route will be via: Sauncey Wood Lane, Holly Lane, Common Lane, B652 Kimpton Bottom and Coopers Hill.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 15 October 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing Of B656 Hitchin Road, Codicote) Order 2026
NOTICE is given that HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B656 Hitchin Road, Codicote from its junction with Whitwell Road north westwards, north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with Drivers End, a distance of approximately 927m ("the Road").
An alternative route will be via: B656 (High Street/Codicote Road/Lilley Road/Church Street), B197 (Great North Road/Mardley Hill/London Road/Stevenage Road/London Road), A602 Lytton Way/Hitchin Road/Wymondley Bypass/Stevenage Road) and B656 (London Road/Hitchin Road).
Or via: B656 (Hitchin Road/London Road), A602 (Stevenage Road/Wymondley Bypass/Hitchin Road/Lytton Way/High Street/James Way/Lytton Way), B197 (London Road/Stevenage Road/London Road/Mardley Hill/Great North Road) and B656 (Church Street/Link Road/Codicote Road/High Street).
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 19 October 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 2 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing Of The Road Leading To Nos. 2-9 Parkfield Crescent, Kimpton) Order 2026
NOTICE is given that HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the road leading to Nos.2 - 9 Parkfield Crescent, Kimpton from a point in line with the southern boundary of No.3 Parkfield Crescent north eastwards for its entire length ("the Road").
There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because electrical works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 19 October 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Pinewood, Welwyn Garden City from a point 20m northwest of its junction with Sandpit Road north westwards for distance of approximately 20m ("the Road").
There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because electrical works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 27 October 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary 50mph Speed Restrictions On Ascots Lane, Welwyn Garden City) Order 2026
NOTICE is given that HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from being driven at a speed exceeding 50mph on that length of Ascots Lane, Welwyn Garden City from its junction with A1000 Chequers north eastwards to its junction with Hollybush Lane, a distance of approximately 550m ("the Road"), when signs are in place.
The Order is needed to safely accommodate a site entrance near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 16 October 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 18 months to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

The Hertfordshire (Various Roads, County Of Hertfordshire) (Clearway) Order 2026
NOTICE is given that the HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL proposes under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to introduce Clearway Orders in the County of Hertfordshire as specified in Schedule to this Notice. Documents giving more detailed particulars of the proposals may be viewed from 30 September 2026 during office hours, at: Main Reception, Farnham House, Stevenage, or online at: www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/trafficorders, by looking at Ref: J00226.
Objections or other representations to the proposals should be made in writing to: tro.team@hertfordshire.gov.uk, or TRO Services Team, Postal Point (CH0242), Farnham House, Six Hills Way, Stevenage, SG1 2ST, by 21 October 2026, stating the grounds on which they are made.
