(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF WINDMILL LANE, CHESHUNT) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Windmill Lane, Cheshunt from the access road leading to ‘Cheshunt Country Walk’ car park westwards to the access road leading to ‘Cheshunt Station’ car park, a distance of approximately 30m (“the Road”).
There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because level crossing maintenance works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 18 October 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF LORD STREET, HODDESDON) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Lord Street, Hoddesdon from its junction with Box Lane south westwards and north westwards for a distance of approximately 530m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Lord Street, Langton Road, Winterscroft Road, Norris Lane, Westfield Road, B1197 (Hertford Road/London Road), A414 London Road, Mangrove Road, Mangrove Lane, Goose Green Lord Street and Lord Street.
The Order is needed because cabling works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 21 October 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 2 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS ON VARIOUS ROADS IN HAULTWICK, DANE END, COTTERED, BRAUGHING, FURNEUX PELHAM, BARWICK, EASTWICK, THROCKING, HIGH CROSS, GREAT AMWELL, BUNTINGFORD, STANSTEAD ABBOTTS, DATCHWORTH AND HERTFORD) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-
1. that length of Giffords Lane, Haultwick from its junction with The Street south eastwards to its junction with Munden Road, a distance of approximately 835m.
An alternative route will be via 3U31 (unnamed road), Green End and Munden Road.
2. that length of Munden Road, Dane End from its junction with Whempstead Lane north eastwards to its junction with Whitehill, a distance of approximately 876m.
An alternative route will be via Munden Road, Sacombe Pound, A602 Tonwell Bypass, Anchor Lane, Cambridge Road, High Road, Ermine Street, Standon Green End, Potters Green and Whitehill.
3. that length of Church Lane, Cottered from its junction with A507 Baldock Road south eastwards to its junction with B1037 (unnamed road), a distance of approximately 153m.
An alternative route will be via A507 Baldock Road and B1037 (unnamed road).
4. that length of Pelham Road, Braughing and Braughing Road/Patient End,
Furneux Pelham from its junction with Friars Road north eastwards to its junction with The Causeway, a distance of approximately 3500m.
An alternative route will be via The Street, Ford Street, Warren Lane, A120 Standon Road, Standon Road, Albury Road, Clapgate, Gravesend and C15 (unnamed road).
5. that length of Gore Lane, Barwick from its junction with Barwick Road south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with Standon Public Bridleway No.058, a distance of approximately 719m.
An alternative route will be via Barwick Road, A120 Kents Lane, High Street, Hadham Road, Bromley Lane, C15 (unnamed road), B1004 (High Street/Tower Hill), Kettle Green Lane and C39 (unnamed road).
6. that length of Eastwick Hall Lane, Eastwick from its junction with A414 Eastwick Road north eastwards, north westwards, north eastwards, north westwards and westwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.
7. that length of Throcking Lane, Throcking from its junction with A507 Baldock Road north westwards, north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with Cottered Road, a distance of approximately 812m.
An alternative route will be via A507 Baldock Road, Throcking Road and Cottered Road.
8. that length of 3U258 (unnamed road), Throcking from its junction with Throcking Lane south westwards and north westwards to its junction with Cottered Road, a distance of approximately 448m.
An alternative route will be via A507 Baldock Road, Throcking Road and Cottered Road.
9. that length of Whitehill, Dane End from its junction with Munden Road south eastwards to its junction with Potters Green, a distance of approximately 1661m.
An alternative route will be via Munden Road, Mill Lane, C95 (unnamed road), Ermine Street, Standon Green End and Potters Green.
10. that length of Standon Green End, High Cross from its junction with Potters Green south eastwards, south westwards and south eastwards to its junction with Ermine Street, a distance of approximately 1563m.
An alternative route will be via Potters Green, Whitehill, Munden Road, Mill Lane, C95 (unnamed road) and Ermine Road.
11. that length of B1502 Stanstead Road, Great Amwell from its junction with A1170 Pepper Hill north westwards to its junction with Hoe Lane, a distance of approximately 1914m.
An alternative route will be via A1170 (Pepper Hill/Amwell Hill/London Road), A119 (London Road/Hertford Road/Ware Road) and B1502 Stanstead Road.
12. that length of Brook End, Cottered from its junction with A507 Baldock Road south eastwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.
13. that length of B1038 (unnamed road), Buntingford from its junction with B1368 (unnamed road) eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with the access road leading to ‘Great Hormead Bury’, a distance of approximately 815m.
An alternative route will be via B1368 (Biggin Hill/London Road/High Street/ Cambridge Road/London Road/High Street), B1039 (Picknage Road/Chishill Road/ Barley Road/Hall Lane/Royston Road/Station Road), B1383 (Mutlow Hill/London Road/Belmont Hill) and B1038 (Wicken Road/Clatterbury Lane/High Street/ Pelham Road/Pump Hill/Conduit Lane).
14. that length of B181 Station Road, Stanstead Abbotts from its junction with the A414 Eastwick Road/A1170 Pepper Hill roundabout north eastwards, south eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with Hillside Lane, a distance of approximately 631m.
An alternative route will be via A414 Eastwick Road and B181 (Roydon Road/ High Street).
15. that length of Bramfield Road, Datchworth from its junction with Datchworth Green south eastwards, south westwards and south eastwards to its junction with Burnham Green Road, a distance of approximately 1019m.
An alternative route will be via Datchworth Green, Mardleybury Road, B197 (Mardley Hill/Great North Road), A1000 (Welwyn Bypass Road/Hertford Road), Hertford Road, Harmer Green Lane, New Road, Harmer Green Lane and Burnham Green Road.
16. that length of B1197 London Road, Hertford from its junction with the A414 Rush Green Link roundabout south eastwards to its junction with Vicarage Causeway, a distance of approximately 1296m.
An alternative route will be via A414 Rush Green Link, B1502 Stanstead Road, A1170 Ware Road and B1197 (Hertford Road/London Road).
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
The Order will come into effect from 19 October 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VARIOUS ROADS IN STANDON, WELLPOND GREEN, WORMLEY, WIDFORD AND HODDESDON) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:-
1. that length of Frogs Hall Lane, Standon/3U136 (unnamed road), Wellpond Green from its westernmost junction with A120 Stortford Road south eastwards, north eastwards, south eastwards, north eastwards and north westwards to its easternmost junction with A120 Stortford Road, a distance of approximately 1020m.
An alternative route will be via A120 Stortford Road.
2. that length of Church Lane, Wormley from its junction with The Croft north westwards for a distance of approximately 260m.
An alternative route will be via Church Lane, A1170 High Road, Bell Lane, Baas Lane, White Stubbs Lane and Church Lane.
3. that length of B1004 Ware Road, Widford from its junction with Widford Public Bridleway No.023 south eastwards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 260m.
An alternative route will be via B1004 (Ware Road/Widford Road/Star Street),
A1170 (Bridge Foot/Viaduct Road/London Road/Amwell Hill/Pepper Hill), B181 (Station Road/High Street/Roydon Road), B180 (Hunsdon Road/Stanstead Road/ High Street/Widford Road/Hunsdon Road) and B1004 Ware Road.
4. that length of A1170 Charlton Way, Hoddesdon from its junction with High Street north eastwards to its junction with The Brewery Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 520m.
An alternative route will be via A1170 (High Street/High Road), A10 (Turnford Link Road/unnamed road/Hoddesdon Link Road) and A1170 (Dinant Link Road/ Charlton Way).
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
The Order will come into effect from 19 October 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 2 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Cautherly Lane, Great Amwell from a point 40m north east of its junction with St Johns Lane north eastwards for a distance of approximately 30m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Cautherly Lane, A1170 (Pepper Hill/Amwell Hill), Lower Road and Cautherly Lane.
The Order is needed because electrical repair works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

THE HERTFORDSHIRE (VARIOUS ROADS, COUNTY OF HERTFORDSHIRE) (CLEARWAY) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council proposes under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to introduce Clearway Orders in the County of Hertfordshire as specified in Schedule to this Notice.
Documents giving more detailed particulars of the proposals may be viewed from 1 October 2026 during office hours, at Main Reception, Farnham House, Stevenage, or on-line at www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/trafficorders by looking at Ref: J00226.
Objections or other representations to the proposals should be made in writing to tro.team@hertfordshire.gov.uk or TRO Services Team, Postal Point (CHO242), Farnham House, Six Hills Way, Stevenage, SG1 2ST by 22 October 2026 stating the grounds on which they are made.
