What is happening?

Temporary Orders 

Cornwall Council 
Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (RTRA 1984) 
Temporary Traffic Restriction Order 2026 

Notice is hereby given that Cornwall Council intends to make the above Order in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 to prohibit the use by traffic over an area of highway being Quintrell Road, Newquay from Nansledan Roundabout to junction with Rialton Road. 

Notice is further given that Cornwall Council intends to make the above order in exercise of its powers under section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 to temporarily suspend the existing one-way order The County of Cornwall (Newquay) (Restrictions on Driving) (Consolidation) Order 1991 Rialton Road (Class Ill) between grid references SW 84636 62307 and SW 84740 62302. 

The Council is satisfied that the Order is needed because safety and highways upgrade works are being executed on or near the road. 

The Order will come into operation on 26th October 2026 and the works are expected to be completed by the 13th November 2026. 

The prohibition will be in force 24 hours a day, weekends included. Nothing in Paragraph 1 of this Order will apply to emergency services, traffic associated with the works required within the highway specified above, any vehicle being used for the purposes of an undertaker in an emergency, such as loss of utility supplies and anything done with the permission of or at the discretion of a police officer.

The County of Cornwall (B3274 Between Kernick Road Junction And Beacon Road, Belowda, St Austell, B3273 From Junction West Of Pengelly Farm To Junction With Kernick Road, Tregonetha, St Columb) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic and Stopping) Order 2026 

Notice is hereby given that Cornwall Council has made the above order dated 28th September 2026 in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 to temporarily prohibit the use by traffic of the undermentioned lengths of road in St Columb. This prohibition is necessary for patching works and it is expected that the closure will be from 12th October 2026 to 23rd October 2026. 

Roads subject to prohibition - B3274 Between Kernick Road Junction And Beacon Road, Belowda, St Austell, B3273 From Junction West Of Pengelly Farm To Junction With Kernick Road, St Columb for their entire lengths. 

Notice is further given that Cornwall Council has made the above Order dated 28th September 2026 in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 to temporarily impose a stopping prohibition the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any motor vehicle to stop as specified on the undermentioned lengths of road in St Columb. Where any vehicle is found to be in contravention of this Order it may receive a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) and may be removed from site.

The County of Cornwall (Highfield Avenue, St Austell) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic and Stopping) Order 2026 

Notice is hereby given that Cornwall Council intends to make the above Order in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 to temporarily prohibit the use by traffic of the undermentioned length of road in St Austell. This prohibition is necessary for resurfacing works and it is expected that the closure will be from 26th October 2026 to 30th October 2026. 

Road subject to prohibition - Highfield Avenue, St Austell for its entire length. Notice is further given that Cornwall Council intends to make the above Order in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 to temporarily impose a stopping prohibition the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any motor vehicle to stop as specified on the undermentioned length of road in St Austell. 

Where any vehicle is found to be in contravention of the Order it may receive a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) and may be removed from site. Cornwall Council 
Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (RTRA 1984) 
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026 

Notice is hereby given that Cornwall Council has made the above Order dated 24th September 2026 in exercise of its powers under section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 to prohibit the use by traffic over an area of highway being Footpath 2 in the Parish of Egloshayle for its entire length. 

The Council is satisfied that the Order is needed because of the likelihood of danger to the public due to damaged and unsafe boardwalk. The Order will come into operation on 25th September 2026 and the works are expected to be completed by the 4th March 2027. 

The prohibition will be in force 24 hours a day, weekends included. The road was previously closed for reasons of public safety by notice under Section 14(2) of the RTRA 1984 from the 4th September 2026 for a period of up to 21 days. 

Nothing in this Order will apply to traffic associated with the works required within the highway specified above, any vehicle being used for the purposes of an undertaker in an emergency, such as loss of utility supplies and anything done with the permission of or at the discretion of a police officer.

Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (RTRA 1984) 

Temporary Speed Restriction and Width Restriction Order 2026 

Notice is hereby given that Cornwall Council intends to make the above order in exercise of its powers under section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 to impose a temporary speed restriction of 10 MPH over an area of highway being Boundary Road, Bodmin from junction with Access To Bodmin Hospital to grid reference SX 05285 66875 for approximately 160 metres. 

Notice is further given that Cornwall Council intends to make the above order in exercise of its powers under section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 to temporarily prohibit vehicles exceeding 2.7 metres in width from proceeding over an area of highway being Boundary Road, Bodmin from junction with Access To Bodmin Hospital to grid reference SX 05285 66875 for approximately 160 metres. 

The Council is satisfied that the Order is needed because resurfacing works are being executed on or near the road. 

The Order will come into operation on 26th October 2026 and the works are expected to be completed by the 30th October 2026.
