20 MPH SPEED LIMIT ORDER & ROAD HUMPS PROPOSAL 2026

The Oldham Borough Council hereby give notice that they propose to make the above mentioned Order under Section 84(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to impose a speed limit of 20 miles per hour on the roads specified in Schedule 2.

Notice is hereby given that the Oldham Borough Council in exercise of its powers under the Highways Act 1980, Part V, Section 90A (1) as part of a traffic calming scheme propose to construct traffic calming of a type, dimension and at the locations detailed to Schedule 1.

A copy of the proposed Order, a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing it and a map indicating its location and effect, may be inspected at, J R Clynes Building, Greaves Street, Oldham between the hours of 8.40am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday.

Objections and other representations relating to the Order and the traffic calming proposals must be made in writing and specify the grounds on which they are made to env.traffic@oldham.gov.uk or the Environment Group Solicitor, Spindles Shopping Centre, West Street, Oldham, OL1 1LF by 30th October 2026 any such documents received may be made available for public inspection.

Buckley Street

Approximately 35m from its junction with Queens Road, outside 4 Buckley Street.

Approximately 206m from its junction with Queens Road, outside 16 Buckley Street.

Road - Description

Queen’s Road, Chadderton - South-westbound from its junction with Hunt Lane for its full length.

Buckley Street - North-westbound from its junction with Queens Road to its junction with Hunt Lane.

George Street - North-eastbound from its junction with Buckley Street to its junction with Hunt Lane.

Albion Street - South from its junction with Queen Road for its full length.
