PAVILION ROAD - EXEMPTION FOR PEDAL CYCLES FROM EXISTING ONE-WAY SYSTEM AND NOENTRY RESTRICTION
Kensington and Chelsea (Prescribed Routes) (No. xx) Traffic Order 2026

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (hereinafter referred to as “the Council”) propose to make the above-mentioned Order under section 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The general effect of the Order would be to exempt pedal cycles from the existing southbound one-way system in Pavilion Road between the junction with Basil Street and the junction with Hans Crescent. Pedal cycles would also be made exempt from the ‘no entry’ restriction in place in relation to that one-way system, at the junction of Pavilion Road and Hans Crescent.

3. The above measures would improve accessibility for cyclists in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.

4. A copy of the proposed Order and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the scheme may be obtained via email by contacting trafficorders@rbkc. gov.uk quoting reference: “Pavilion Road Two-Way Cycling” and can be inspected by appointment at Kensington Town Hall, Hornton Street, London W8 7NX between 9am and 5pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive. 5. Anyone who wishes to support or object to this proposal or make any other representations in respect of it, should send a statement in writing to that effect, and in the case of an objection, stating the grounds thereof to: trafficorders@rbkc.gov.uk or Traffic Orders, Transportation and Highways, Kensington Town Hall, Hornton Street, London W8 7NX, quoting reference: Pavilion Road Two-Way Cycling, by 21 st October 2026.

6. Under the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985, any letter you write to the Council in response to this Notice may be made available to the press and to the public, who would be entitled to take copies of it if they so wished.
