EAST AYRSHIRE COUNCIL
(C137 Chapel Brae, Sorn) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026

On 29 September 2026 the Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on it under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and of all other enabling powers, made the above-named Order, to allow BT Works.

Temporary Road Closure – C137 Chapel Brae, Sorn, For 75m from junction with B743 The Order commences on 13 October 2026 and has a maximum duration of 18 months or until the works are completed, whichever is earlier. 

The works are expected to commence from 13 October 2026 at 00:01 with the closure remaining in place until 26 October 2026 at 23:59.

The days and times of the works may be dependent upon the weather conditions but the Order will be implemented only when the appropriate signs are displayed.

Emergency Services access will not be affected and access for residents, deliveries and pedestrians’ out-with the working zone will be maintained.

An alternative route will be signed via Chapel Brae, Mill Street, St. Germain Street, Townhead, Auchinleck Road, B713, Main Street, B743.

(Racecourse View, Ayr) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026

On 24 September 2026 the Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on it under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and of all other enabling powers, made the above-named Order, to allow BT repair works.

Temporary Road Closure – Racecourse View, Ayr - From it’s junction with Midton Road to No. 3 Racecourse View (Approx 100m).

The Order commences on 12 October 2026 and has a maximum duration of 18 months or until the works are completed, whichever is earlier. 

The works are expected to commence from 12 October 2026 at 08:00 with the closure remaining in place until 23 October 2026 at 17:00.

The days and times of the works may be dependent upon the weather conditions but the Order will be implemented only when the appropriate signs are displayed.

Emergency Services access will not be affected and access for residents, deliveries and pedestrians’ out-with the working zone will be maintained.

Alternative routes will be signed via:
Diversion 1 - Racecourse View - Racecourse Road - Miller Road - Burns Statue Square- Parkhouse Street - Beresford Terrace - Carrick Road - Monument Road - Corsehill Road - Racecourse View - End

Diversion 2 - Racecourse View - Corsehill Road - Monument Road - Carrick Road - Beresford Terrace - Miller Road - Racecourse Road - Racecourse View - End.

(Montgomerie Road, Prestwick) (Temporary Road Closure & Prohibition of Waiting Order 2026

On 24 September 2026 the Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on it under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the Road Traffic (Permitted Parking Area and Special Parking Area) (South Ayrshire Council) Designation Order 2012 and the Road Traffic Act 1991 and of all other enabling powers, made the above-named Order to allow Carriageway Resurfacing.

Temporary Road Closure – Montgomerie Road, Prestwick
Full length (120m) - Links Road to Seabank Road.

No Waiting At Any Time - Montgomerie Road, Prestwick
Full length (120m) - Links Road to Seabank Road both sides of carriageway.

The Order commences on 12 October 2026 and has a maximum duration of 18 months or until the works are completed, whichever is earlier. The works are expected to commence from 12 October 2026 at 08:00 until 19 October 2026 at 17:00.

The road is expected to be closed between 08:00 and 17:00 each day with it being open out-with these times.

The days and times of the works may be dependent upon the weather conditions but the Order will be implemented only when the appropriate signs are displayed.

Emergency Services access will not be affected and access for residents, deliveries and pedestrians’ out-with the working zone will be maintained whenever possible and safe to do so.

An alternative route will be signed via Links Road, Ardayre Road, Seabank Road and vice versa.
