What is happening?

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The U3118 Gulpher Road, Felixstowe
SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL has made an order closing the U3118 Gulpher Road, Felixstowe from the junction with Treetops to the junction with Bluebell Way to facilitate a bridge inspection. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be: High Road West, Garrison Lane, Grove Road, Colneis Road, Ferry Road and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 29/09/2026 - 30/09/2026 from 7:00am – 5:00pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of Footpaths 9 And 10, Brightwell
SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL intends to make an order closing Footpath 9, Brightwell and Footpath 10, Brightwell from Bridleway 12 Brightwell to footpath 9 Brightwell to facilitate safety during construction of new development. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
There is no diversion route.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 08/10/2026 - 07/04/2027 (or longer if extended by the Minister).

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL - (District Of St Edmundsbury) - (Stopping, Waiting And Loading Prohibitions And Restrictions And On-Street Parking Places) - (Map-Based) Order 2019 - (Parish Of Bury St Edmunds) - (Northern Way) - (U2530) - (Prohibition Of Waiting) - (Variation No.16) Order 2026
On 23/09/2026 SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL made the above order under Sections 1(1) and (2), 2(1) to (3), 4(2) and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, substitute revision 1 of Map Tile DT60 in place of revision 0 of the same Map Tile, into the above-named 2019 Order.
The Effect Of This Would Be To:
- introduce a ‘No waiting at any time’ on:
- the South side of Northern Way (U2530), Bury St Edmunds, starting at a point 28.9m east of the centre of its junction with Chase Road (private) for a distance of 23m in an easterly direction.
- remove a ‘No waiting at any time’ on:
- the South side of Northern Way, (U2530), Bury St Edmunds, starting at a point 57.9m east of the centre of its junction with Chase Rd (private) for a distance of 7.6m.
Exemptions to the waiting restrictions allow a vehicle to wait for so long as is necessary to board or alight or to load and unload for building, industrial or demolition works; for emergency services; for the maintenance of the road or its services; and for fulfilling statutory duties. There are the usual exemptions for Blue Badge holders.
A copy of the order, which comes into effect on 30/09/2026, may be seen with advance notice, may be seen with advance notice at the address below, 9:00am – 5:00pm Monday - Friday; also at: Bury St Edmunds Library, Sergeants Walk, St Andrews Street North, Bury St Edmunds, IP33 1TZ, during Monday: 8:30am – 5:30pm, Tuesday: 8:30am – 7:30pm, Wednesday: 8:30am – 5:30pm, Thursday: 8:30am – 5:30pm, Friday: 8:30am – 7:30pm, Saturday: 8:30am – 5:00pm and Sunday: 10:00am – 4:00pm.
If anyone wishes to question the validity of the order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, or on the grounds that any of the requirements of that Act or any instrument made under it have not been complied with in relation to the order, they may within six weeks of the date on which the order was made apply to the High Court for this purpose.

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL - (Pakefield) (London Road) - (Prohibition Of Right Turn) Order 2026
On 23/09/2026 SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL made the above order under Sections 1 and 2 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which would be introduce a prohibition of right turn for all vehicles turning right, northbound, from the Pakefield Holiday Park, into London Road, Pakefield.
A copy of the order, which comes into effect on 30/09/2026, may be seen with advance notice, may be seen on request at the address below, 9:00am – 5:00pm Monday - Friday; also at: Lowestoft Library, Clapham Road South, Lowestoft, NR32 1DR, between 9:00am – 6:00pm Monday, 8:30am – 6:00pm Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm Saturday and 10:00am – 4:00pm Sunday.
