Norwich - Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Road and Footpath Closures due to Utility Works

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS 2026

(NORWICH)

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Norfolk County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, hereby give notice that:

i) THEY PROPOSE TO MAKE Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders in respect of the following roads:

GRANT STREET – from its junction with Speke Street for 40m southwards to facilitate pipe repair works from 08:00 on 7th October to 18:00 on 8th October 2026 (may continue until 19th November 2026). Alternative route is via: Speke Street, Hotblack Road, Dereham Road and vice versa. The works promoter is Cadent.

SEABROOK COURT FOOTPATH NORTH OF 6 TO SOUTH OF 14 – from 33m southwest of its joining with Kerville Street for 15m westwards to facilitate meter exchange works on 6th October 2026 (may continue until 17th November 2026). Alternative route is via: Seabrook Court Footpath North of 6 to South Of 14, Seabrook Court Footpath South of 20 to North of 33, Kerville Street and vice versa. The works promoter is Anglian Water.

ii) THEY HAVE MADE a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order in respect of the following:

BAKERS ROAD FOOTPATH BETWEEN 49 AND 51 TO WINGFIELD ROAD – from its junction with Bakers Road for 30m north-westwards to facilitate utility cover repair works between 10:30 and 17:00 on 29th September 2026 (may continue until 10th November 2026). Alternative route is via: Bakers Road Footpath East Side of 7 To Oak Street, Oak Street, Bakers Road and vice versa. The works promoter is Anglian Water.

Unless otherwise stated, the effect of these Orders will be to prohibit the use by traffic of the named road(s)/footpath(s). In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance. Where an Order is for a reason other than works it is because of the likelihood of danger to the public or of serious damage to the road/footpath. Anticipated dates are stated but the Orders may continue until the end date where necessary or required. The Orders are revoked on the end date or on the actual date of removal of the prohibition/restriction where earlier without further notice. If necessary, the restrictions can have a maximum duration of 18 months or 6 months in respect of footpaths, cycle tracks, bridleways, restricted byways, and byways open to all traffic (BOAT), but may also be extended further by the Secretary of State.

Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.
