CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (FRIARS COURT, CARLISLE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable repair works to be carried out to an adjacent buildings (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along that section of Friar’s Court, Carlisle from its junction with Lowther Street, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 70m.
There is no suitable alternative route available.

The Order will come into operation on 29 October 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 1 month and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
