What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (C1029 MAWBRAY, U2134 BOLTON NEW HOUSES, C1035 FAUGH, C2050 WOODROW, C1025 BOOTHBY AND U2138 NEAR WIGTON) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the attached Schedule.
Suitable diversion routes will be indicated on site by the display of relevant traffic signs as and when the temporary closures are in force. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 13 October 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for a stated in the schedule and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

From its junction with C2013 Holme St Cuthberts, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 1.1km.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C2019, B5301, Tarns and C2013.
2. U2134 Bolton New Houses – From 19 October 2026 for approx. 3 days

From its junction with C2020, extending in an overall southerly direction for approx. 1.2km.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the U2134, U2135, and C2020.
3. C1035 Faugh – From 19 October 2026 for approx. 3 days

From its junction with the C1026, extending in a northerly direction for approx. 1km.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the C1035, C1024, Corby Hill and C1026 Heads Nook.
4. C2050 Woodrow – From 22 October 2026 for approx. 5 days

From its junction with the U2138, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 850m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the C2050, A595, B5299, Mealsgate, C2006, and U2138.
5. C1025 Boothby, Near Brampton – From 26 October 2026 for approx. 3 days

From a point approx. 230m south west of its junction with the U1056, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 370m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C1025, A6071, Moatside, Union Lane, Greenfield Lane, Longtown Road, Brampton, C1013 and C1029.
6. U2138 Near Wigton – From 2 November 2026 for approx. 1 week

From its junction with the C2006, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 2.6km.
Alternative Routes: via the unrestricted sections of the U2138, U2141, A595, B5299, and C2006, OR via the C2050, A596, and U2139.
