Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
THANET AREA
A28 Canterbury Road, Westgate On Sea (PROHIBITION OF RIGHT TURN) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A28 Canterbury Road, Westgate On Sea, on or after 23rd October 2026 for up to 10 days or until the works have been completed.
A prohibition of right turn will be imposed on part of A28 Canterbury Road. The restriction will be imposed outside Ursuline College, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A28 Canterbury Road, A28 Marine Terrace, A28 Canterbury Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Cannonbury Road, Ramsgate, CT11 9PG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Cannonbury Road, Ramsgate, on or after 5th October 2026 for up to 14 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from outside number 46 to outside number 62, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Mill Row, Birchington, CT7 0BU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Mill Row, Birchington, on or after 5th October 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the rear of number 280 A28 Canterbury Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Pegwell Road, Ramsgate, CT11 0HS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Pegwell Road, Ramsgate, on or after 7th October 2026 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 7, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Pegwell Road, St Lawrence Avenue, Royal Esplanade, St Mildreds Avenue and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
West Cliff Road, Ramsgate, CT11 9PG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of West Cliff Road, Ramsgate, on or after 19th October 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 3 Artillery Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via West Cliff Road, B2054 Grange Road, B2054 St Augustines Road, B2054 Paragon, B2054 Royal Parade, Leopold Street, Queen Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Winstanley Crescent, Ramsgate, CT11 7AZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Winstanley Crescent, Ramsgate, on or after 5th October 2026 for up to 12 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the rear of number 27 A254 Margate Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Winstanley Crescent, A254 Margate Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Various Roads, Margate (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, PEDESTRIANS & PARKING AND SUSPENSION OF LEFT & RIGHT TURN) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow footway reconstruction works to be carried out Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Various Roads, Margate, on or after 5th October 2026 for up to 56 days or until the works have been completed.
Restrictions will be imposed to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Phase 1 - Closures will be imposed Eastbound only, from 5th October 2026 with estimated completion by 14th October 2026.
A255 Ramsgate Road will be closed between the junctions of A255 St Peters Road and A254 Ramsgate Road.
A254 Ramsgate Road will be closed between the junctions of A255 Ramsgate Road and Connaught Road.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A255 St Peters Road, B2052 College Road and A254 Ramsgate Road.
Pedestrians will be prohibited on part of A255 Ramsgate Road, between the junctions of A255 St Peters Road and A254 Ramsgate Road.
Pedestrians will be prohibited on part of A254 Ramsgate Road, between the junctions of A255 Ramsgate Road and Connaught Road.
Phase 2 - Closures will be imposed Westbound only, from 15th October 2026 with estimated completion by 19th October 2026.
A255 Ramsgate Road will be closed between the junctions of A255 St Peters Road and A254 Ramsgate Road.
A254 Ramsgate Road will be closed between the junctions of A255 Ramsgate Road and Connaught Road.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A255 St Peters Road, B2052 College Road, Tivoli Road, A255 Grosvenor Gardens and A255 High Street.
Pedestrians will be prohibited on part of A255 Ramsgate Road, between the junctions of A255 St Peters Road and A254 Ramsgate Road.
Pedestrians will be prohibited on part of A254 Ramsgate Road, between the junctions of A255 Ramsgate Road and Connaught Road.
Phase 3 - Restrictions will be imposed Westbound only, from 19th October 2026 with estimated completion by 1st November 2026.
A254 Ramsgate Road will be closed between the junctions of A254 Queens Avenue and B2052 College Road.
The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via B2052 College Road, B2052 Hartsdown Road, Hartsdown Road, A28 Canterbury Road, A28 Marine Terrace, A254 Belgrave Road, A254 Eaton Road, A255 Grosvenor Gardens and A255 High Street.
Pedestrians will be prohibited on part of A254 Ramsgate Road, between the junctions of A254 Queens Avenue and B2052 College Road.
The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via B2052 College Road and A255 St Peters Road.
Alexandra Road will have a suspension of left turn imposed turning left onto A254 Ramsgate Road.
Buckingham Road will have a suspension of left turn imposed turning left onto A254 Ramsgate Road.
Beatrice Road will have a suspension of left turn imposed turning left onto A254 Ramsgate Road.
Phase 4 - Closures will be imposed Eastbound only, from 2nd November 2026 with estimated completion by 15th November 2026.
A254 Ramsgate Road will be closed between the junctions of B2052 College Road and Perkins Avenue.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2052 College Road and A255 St Peters Road, A255 Dane Court Road, A256 Westwood Road, A254 Margate Road and A254 Ramsgate Road.
Beatrice Road will have a suspension of right turn imposed turning right onto A254 Ramsgate Road.
Pedestrians will be prohibited on part of A254 Ramsgate Road, between the junctions of B2052 College Road and Perkins Avenue.
Phase 5 - Restrictions will be imposed Westbound only, from 16th November 2026 with estimated completion by 28th November 2026.
A254 Ramsgate Road will be closed between the junctions of St Augustines Avenue and Nash Court Road.
Pedestrians will be prohibited on part of A254 Ramsgate Road, between the junctions of St Augustines Avenue and Nash Court Road.
A prohibition of parking will be imposed on part of Nash Court Road. The restriction will be imposed at the junction of A254 Ramsgate Road.
