SCHEDULE I - SECTION 14 (1) (A)
ROYAL HOSPITAL ROAD - TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
I. The Council of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea hereby give notice that to facilitate highway improvement works they intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to impose temporary restrictions on vehicular traffic in the sections of the streets as listed in paragraph II below. In addition, the alternative routes are also shown.
Directly affected residents will be notified in advance of the dates and anticipated duration of each closure. However, to allow for contingencies the order will remain in force for eighteen months. II.
1. Ormonde Gate (E) - Closure at its junction with Royal Hospital Road.
Alternative routes for vehicular traffic are via Christchurch Street, Ormonde Gate (W); and via Ormonde Gate (W), Christchurch Street.
2. Royal Hospital Road - Closure between Ormonde Gate (E) and 20m northeast of Ormonde Gate (E). Alternative routes for vehicular traffic are:
- via Lower Sloane Street, King's Road, Beaufort Street, Chelsea Embankment, Cheyne Place, Royal Hospital Road;
- via Chelsea Bridge Road, Chelsea Bridge, Queenstown Road, Queen's Circus, Queenstown Road, Chelsea Bridge, Chelsea Embankment; and
- via Chelsea Embankment, Chelsea Bridge, Queenstown Road, Queen's Circus, Queenstown Road, Chelsea Bridge, Chelsea Bridge Road.
III. To facilitate the works being carried out the Order will ban waiting at any time in the sections of carriageway specified above whilst the works are being carried out.
IV. The Order will come into effect on Thursday 8th October 2026 and under the provisions of the above-mentioned Act will continue in force until such time as all the works are completed.
V. Nothing in this Notice shall apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a traffic warden.
VI. Nothing in this Notice shall apply to any vehicle being used in connection with the said works.
