(Sompting: Steepdown Road) (Temporary Closure) Order 2026
NOTICE is hereby given that not less than 7 days from the date of this notice, WSCC intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close Steepdown Road in Sompting from a point 85m north of Halewick Lane, northwards for 50 m.
The road closure is needed to allow maintenance works to electricity cables to be carried out in safety.
The Order will come into effect on 12 October 2026 and remain in force until 19 October 2026. Once made, the Order may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.
It is intended to close Steepdown Road during the daytime only (0800 to 1800) during the operative periods of this Order. Alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site and access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC proposes to make a permanent Traffic regulation Order under the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to make a short extension to an existing length of double yellow lines on the south side of West Parade in Worthing, east of its junction with Grand Avenue.
The opportunity is also being taken to update the Worthing parking Order to reflect the current layout of double yellow lines at the western end of Yeoman Way in Worthing. This part of the Order makes no change to the existing layout of yellow lines at this location.
Full details of the proposals in this notice can be viewed on the Traffic Regulation Order page of the WSCC website. The website includes a response form for any comments or objections. People without access to a computer who wish to view details of the scheme should telephone the WSCC Contact Centre on 01243 642105 to receive the documents by post.
