What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

DOVER AREA

A257 Pedding Hill, Shatterling (30MPH SPEED LIMIT) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily impose a mandatory 30MPH speed limit on through traffic on part of A257 Pedding Hill, Shatterling, on or after 5th October 2026 for up to 12 days or until the works have been completed.

Restrictions will be imposed to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

A257 Pedding Hill will have a mandatory 30MPH speed limit imposed between the junctions of A257 Roman Road and A257 Ash Bypass. The approaches and exits to this area will have a mandatory 40MPH speed limit imposed.

The current speed limit will be suspended for the duration of these works.



Alfred Road, Dover, CT17 0TX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Alfred Road, Dover, on or after 21st October 2026 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the junction of Lorne Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Clifford Gardens, Deal, CT14 9EH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Clifford Gardens, Deal, on or after 5th October 2026 until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed the entire length, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Drainless Road, Woodnesborough, CT13 0PP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Drainless Road, Woodnesborough, on or after 20th October 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Prince Of Wales, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Beacon Lane, Foxborough Hill, Drainless Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Gilford Road, Deal, CT14 7DG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Gilford Road, Deal, on or after 6th October 2026 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 22, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via Park Avenue, A258 London Road, A258 Queen Street, A258 Broad Street, A258 Beach Street, A258 Prince Of Wales Terrace, A258 Deal Castle Road, A258 Victoria Road and Gilford Road.

The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via Gilford Road, A258 Victoria Road, A258 Ranelagh Road, A258 Prince Of Wales Terrace, A258 Beach Street, A258 Broad Street, A258 Queen Street, A258 London Road and Park Avenue.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Guilford Avenue, Whitfield (PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit pedestrians on part of Guilford Avenue, Whitfield, on or after 5th October 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

Pedestrians will be prohibited on part of Guilford Avenue from outside number 24 to outside number 40, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Guilford Avenue and vice versa.



Millwall Place, Sandwich, CT13 9BL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Millwall Place, Sandwich, on or after 5th October 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 12, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Sandwich Road, Knowlton (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Sandwich Road, Knowlton, on or after 5th October 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside The Lodge, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Sandwich Road, Easole Street, Holt Street, Sandwich Road, Aylesham Road, Spinney Lane, B2046 Adisham Road, B2046 High Street, A257 High Street, A257 Gobery Hill, A257 Roman Road, A257 Pedding Hill, Pedding Hill, Guilton, The Street, Moat Lane, Coombe Lane, New Street, Marshborough Road, Beacon Lane, Hammill Road, Station Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Statenborough Lane, Eastry, CT13 0DJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow carriageway works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Statenborough Lane, Eastry, on or after 5th October 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Woodnesborough Lane and Sandwich Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Woodnesborough Lane, Sandwich Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Wenderton Lane, Wingham, CT3 1BZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Wenderton Lane, Wingham, on or after 9th October 2026 for up to 6 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Hearts Delight Lane and Preston Road, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Hearts Delight Lane, Preston Road, Wenderton Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Widred Road, Dover, CT17 0BT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Widred Road, Dover, on or after 9th October 2026 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed opposite number 15, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Widred Road, Odo Road, South Road, Noahs Ark Road, Edred Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
