What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

ASHFORD AREA

Cherry Orchard Lane, Aldington, TN25 7AZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2026

To allow meter installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Cherry Orchard Lane, Aldington from 19th October 2026, with estimated completion by 21st October 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Holmwood, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Cherry Orchard Lane, New Road Hill, Forge Hill, Roman Road, Frith Road, Priory Road, Bourne Road, D1416 From Junction With Bourne Road To Junction With Frogmore Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Church Road, Warehorne.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, PEDESTRIANS & EQUESTRIANS)​TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2026

To allow level crossing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic, pedestrians and equestrians on part of Church Road, Warehorne from 20th October 2026 with estimated completion by 23rd October 2026, between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00 hours only, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed 10m either side of Warehorne level crossing, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Church Road, H Hockley Lane From Junction With B2067 Kenardington Road To Junction With Church Road, Kenardington Road, Warehorne Road, Appledore Road, Heath Road, The Street, Station Road, Arrowhead Lane, Snargate Road and vice versa.



Ebony Road, Stone, TN30 7HX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2026

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Ebony Road, Stone from 6th October 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with B2080 Reading Street heading southbound for approximately 2550m, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Ebony Road, Acton Lane, B2082 Stocks Road, Wittersham Road, Catts Hill, Appledore Road, Lower Road, Ferry Road, B2080 Tenterden Road, Reading Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Fridd Lane, Bethersden, TN26 3DH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2026

To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Fridd Lane, Bethersden from 7th October 2026, with estimated completion by 9th October 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Mill Hill Farm business units, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Old Surrenden Manor Road, A28 Ashford Road, Goldwell Lane, Etchden Road and Fridd Lane.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Frogmore Lane, Bonnington.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2026

To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Frogmore Lane, Bonnington from 5th October 2026, with estimated completion by 18th December 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 250m south of St Rumwold’s Church, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Frogmore Lane, Bonnington Road, Knoll Hill, Giggers Green Road, From Newchurch Town Boundary To Eastbridge Road, From Newchurch To Newchurch Town Boundary and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Harmers Way, Egerton, TN27 9DS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2026

To allow works involving connecting a sewer from new development into an existing sewer and S278 developments to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Harmers Way, Egerton from 5th October 2026 with estimated completion by 17th October 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the new development entrance and number 10, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Harris Lane, High Halden (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2026

To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Harris Lane, High Halden from 6th October 2026 with estimated completion by 7th October 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed opposite Springbourne Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Harris Lane, High Halden Road From Pb To Pb, High Halden Road, Bush Lane, Thurstons Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Osborne Road & Albemarle Road, Willesborough.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2026

To allow heavy jetting and CCTV works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Osborne Road & Albemarle Road, Willesborough from 19th October 2026 with estimated completion by 20th October 2026, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:00, or until the works have been completed.

Osborne Road will be closed at the junction with Albemarle Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Albemarle Road will be closed between the junctions with A292 Hythe Road and Osborne Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Osborne Road, Church Road, A292 Hythe Road, Hunter Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Pilgrims Way, Boughton Aluph, TN25 4EX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2026

To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Pilgrims Way, Boughton Aluph from 6th October 2026 with estimated completion by 7th October 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 70m east of Bramley Mount Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Wye Road, A28 Canterbury Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Snargate Road, Kenardington (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2026

To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Snargate Road, Kenardington from 5th October 2026 with estimated completion by 6th October 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 100m west of Smiths Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Snargate Road, Kenardington Road, Appledore Road, The Wish, Church Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Surrenden Road, Pluckley, TN27 0PN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2026.

To allow frame and cover replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Surrenden Road, Pluckley from 9th October 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 09:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between Wenny House and Healan Wood, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Surrenden Road, Malmains Road, Station Road, The Street, Forge Hill, Charing Road, Swan Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Swan Lane, Pluckley & Little Chart.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2026

To allow overhead cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Swan Lane, Pluckley & Little Chart from 19th October 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with Surrenden Road and The Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Swan Lane, Charing Road, Pluckley Road, Station Road, A20 Maidstone Road, Roundabout Back Onto A20 Maidstone Road, Cades Road, School Road, West Street, Little Chart Road, Swan Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Swan Street, Wittersham, TN30 7PJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2026

To allow heavy jetting and CCTV works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Swan Street, Wittersham from 21st October 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between Finches and number 39, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Moons Green, Palstre Court Road (Wittersham Road), B2082 Poplar Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Various Roads, Willesborough, Kennington & Ashford (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2026

To allow the Givaudan Ashford 10k Road Race to be held, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of various roads throughout Willesborough, Kennington & Ashford from 11th October 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 09:20 and 11:05, or until the event has been completed.

The following roads will be closed on a rolling basis as the race progresses, in the approximate sequence shown below:-

A2070 Kennington Road, Willesborough will be closed in its entirety.

A2070 Willesborough Road, Kennington will be closed in its entirety.

A28 Canterbury Road, Kennington will be closed between the junctions with A2070 Willesborough Road and The Street.

The Street, Kennington will be closed in its entirety.

Ulley Road, Kennington will be closed between the junctions with The Street and Upper Vicarage Road.

Upper Vicarage Road, Ashford will be closed in its entirety.

A2042 Faversham Road, Ashford will be closed between the junctions with Upper Vicarage Road and A28 Canterbury Road at Penlee Point.

A28 Canterbury Road, Kennington will be closed between the junctions with A2042 Faversham Road and A28 Simone Weil Avenue.

A2042 Canterbury Road, Ashford will be closed between the junctions with A28 Simone Weil Avenue and Hardinge Road.

A2042 North Street, Ashford will be closed between the junctions with Hardinge Road and A292 Somerset Road.

A292 Somerset Road, Ashford will be closed between the junctions with A2042 North Street and A292 Mace Lane.

A292 Mace Lane, Ashford will be closed in its entirety.

A292 Hythe Road, Ashford will be closed between the junctions with A292 Mace Lane and Lees Road.

Lees Road, Ashford will be closed between the junctions with A292 Hythe Road and Silver Hill Road.

Lees Road, Willesborough will be closed in its entirety.

A2070 Kennington Road, Willesborough will be closed between the junctions with Silver Hill Road and A2070 Willesborough Road.

Marshalls will be in place to allow access for emergency service vehicles and to allow managed access to any residents affected, where it is safe to do so. There are likely to be delays and certain times when this is not possible for safety reasons.
