Greenbank Area, Edinburgh - Temporary Road Restrictions

THE CITY OF EDINBURGH COUNCIL

(GREENBANK AREA) (TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTION AND TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026 - TEMP/26/132

 The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be that for a temporary period, to facilitate carriageway resurfacing, improve pedestrian facilities and installation of gullies, no person shall: (a) drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle on any part of the roads specified in Schedule 1; & (b) except with the permission of a Parking Attendant, cause or permit any vehicle to wait or load onto or unload from any vehicle at any time on any part of the roads specified in Schedule 2. The road closures for Phases 1 & 2 shall not be enacted at the same time. Existing parking restrictions will be suspended on the affected sections of road described in Schedule 2. The alternative routes for through vehicular traffic in relation to the road closures are: Phase 1 (i) greenbank Cres – Greenbank Cres, Comiston Rd including Pentland Ter & Buckstone Ter, Oxgangs Rd, Oxgangs Rd Nth, Oxgangs Ave; (ii) greenbank rd (north leg) - Greenbank Rd (westwards then southwards), Greenbank Cres; (iii) greenbank ln - Greenbank Ln, Greenbank Gdns, Greenbank Rd (southwards), Greenbank Cres; (iv) greenbank pk - Greenbank Pk, Greenbank Rd (southwards), Greenbank Cres; and (v) greenbank gro - Greenbank Gro, Greenbank Rd (southwards), Greenbank Cres. Phase 2 (i) greenbank Cres – Oxgangs Ave, Oxgangs Rd Nth, Oxgangs Rd, Comiston Rd including Buckstone Ter & Pentland Ter, Greenbank Cres; (ii) greenbank row - Greenbank Row, Greenbank Rd (northwards), Greenbank Cres; (iii) greenbank rd (south leg) - Greenbank Rd, Greenbank Pk, Greenbank Cres; and (iv) oxgangs ave - Oxgangs Ave, Oxgangs Rd Nth, Oxgangs Rd, Comiston Rd including Buckstone Ter & Pentland Ter, Greenbank Cres. The Order shall have effect from 28/09/26 to 02/05/27. sChedule 1 road Closures: Phase 1 (i) greenbank Cres from 50m west of the extended west kerbline of Comiston Rd, south-westwards and then southwards to the extended north kerbline of Greenbank Row; (ii) greenbank rd (north leg) at Greenbank Cres; (iii) greenbank ln at Greenbank Cres; (iv) greenbank pk at Greenbank Cres; and (v) greenbank gro at Greenbank Cres. Phase 2 (i) greenbank Cres from the extended south kerbline of Greenbank Row, southwards to the extended southern extent of the southern-most path leading to Braidburn Valley Park; (ii) greenbank row at Greenbank Cres; (iii) greenbank rd (south leg) at Greenbank Cres; and (iv) oxgangs ave from the extended southern extent of the southern-most path leading to Braidburn Valley Park, south-westwards to 21m north-east of the extended north-east kerbline of Oxgangs Cres. sChedule 2 prohibiTion of WaiTing loading & unloading (i) greenbank Cres from 50m west of the extended west kerbline of Comiston Rd, southwestwards and then southwards to the extended southern extent of the southern-most path leading to Braidburn Valley Park; (ii) oxgangs ave from the extended southern extent of the southern-most path leading to Braidburn Valley Park, south-westwards to 21m north-east of the extended northeast kerbline of Oxgangs Cres; (iii) greenbank rd (north leg) from the extended north-west kerbline of Greenbank Cres, north-westwards for 50m; (iv) greenbank ln from the extended west kerbline of Greenbank Cres, westwards for 50m; (v) greenbank pk from the extended west kerbline of Greenbank Cres, westwards for 50m; (vi) greenbank gro from the extended west kerbline of Greenbank Cres, westwards for 50m; (vii) greenbank row from the extended west kerbline of Greenbank Cres, westwards for 50m; (viii) greenbank rd (south leg) from the extended west kerbline of Greenbank Cres, westwards for 50m; (ix) greenbank la from the extended north-west kerbline of Greenbank Rd, north-westwards to the extended south-east kerbline of Greenbank Dr; and (x) greenbank dr from the extended west kerbline of Comiston Rd, westwards to the extended east kerbline of Morningside Gro.
