SCHEDULE I - SECTION 14 (1) (A)
VARIOUS ROADS - TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
I. The Council of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea hereby give notice that to facilitate highway works they intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to impose temporary restrictions on vehicular traffic in the sections of the streets as listed in paragraph II below. In addition, the alternative routes are also shown.
Directly affected residents will be notified in advance of the dates and anticipated duration of each closure. However, to allow for contingencies the order will remain in force for eighteen months.
II.
1. Holland Park Avenue - Banned left turn into Addison Road. Alternate route for vehicular traffic is via Holland Park Avenue, Holland Road and Upper Addison Gardens.
2. Lexham Mews - Closed at its junction with Lexham Gardens. Alternate route for vehicular traffic is via Lexham Gardens, Marloes Road, Stratford Road and Radley Mews.
3. Cheyne Walk - Closed between its junctions with Cheyne Row and Chelsea Embankment. Diversion via Cheyne Walk. Cheyne Walk to be made two-way for the duration of the works to aid access and egress.
4. Cambridge Place - Road Closed. No alternative route for vehicular traffic.
5. Chelsea Bridge - Closed southbound between its junctions with Chelsea Embankment and Carriage Drive North (cycle lane and southbound carriageway only). Twoway traffic maintained.
6. Chelsea Bridge - Closed northbound between its junctions with Chelsea Embankment and Carriage Drive South (bus and cycle lanes only). Two-way traffic maintained.
7. Chelsea Bridge - Footway Closure (East footway).
Alternative route for pedestrians via West footway.
8. Chelsea Bridge - Footway Closure (West footway).
Alternative route for pedestrians via East footway.
III. To facilitate the works being carried out the Order will ban waiting at any time in the sections of carriageway specified above whilst the works are being carried out.
IV. The Order will come into effect on Thursday, 8th October 2026 and under the provisions of the above mentioned Act will continue in force until such time as all the works are completed.
V. Nothing in this Notice shall apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a traffic warden.
VI. Nothing in this Notice shall apply to any vehicle being used in connection with the said works.
