NOTICE OF PROPOSAL HIGHWAYS ACT 1980
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(BRANCH ROAD, MELLOR, RIBBLE VALLEY AND SOUTH RIBBLE BOROUGHS) (ROAD HUMPS)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in accordance with Section 90A of the Highways Act 1980, Lancashire County Council propose the following:
1. Remove speed cushions in Branch Road, Mellor, from a point 160.98 metres south of its junction with the centreline of Osburn Drive, for a distance of 3.52 metres in a southerly direction.
2. Introduce a junction table in the following locations:
a) Branch Road, Mellor, from the intersection of the centreline of Lancaster Drive and Branch Road for a distance of 10.25 metres in a southerly direction;
b) Branch Road, Mellor, from the intersection of the centreline of Lancaster Drive and Branch Road for a distance of 10.25 metres in a northerly direction;
c) Lancaster Drive, Mellor, from the intersection of the centreline of Branch Road for a distance of 17.85 metres in a westerly direction.
The junction table will have a maximum height not exceeding 75mm.
A copy of the relevant notice and plan, indicating the proposal may be inspected during normal office hours at the offices of the Ribble Valley Borough Council, Council Offices, Church Walk, Clitheroe, BB7 2RA, and at the offices of South Ribble Borough Council, Civic Centre, West Paddock, Leyland, PR25 1DH, and at the offices of The Director of Law and Governance, Lancashire County Council, County Hall, Fishergate, Preston PR1 8XJ, and on Lancashire County Councils Website https://www.lancashire.gov.uk/roads-parking-and-travel/roads/roadworks-and-traffic-regulation-orders/permanent-traffic-regulation-orders/. Any representations or objections (specifying the grounds on which they are made) relating to the proposal must be made in writing and should be sent to The Director of Law and Governance, Lancashire County Council, P O Box 100, County Hall, Preston PR1 0LD or by e-mail to tro-consultation@lancashire.gov.uk quoting ref: LSG4/106213/AFR before 23rd October 2026.
