What is happening?

The Council of the City of Salford intends to make in no less than 7 days under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984: SALFORD CITY COUNCIL (GREAT CHEETHAM STREET EAST) TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026.

The Order will introduce a one way road closure on Great Cheetham Street East, heading in a southbound direction from the junction of Dudley Street to the junction of St James Road, Salford, M7 4XN. The Order is required for the installation of a new electrical connection in the footway and carriageway. The order is due to come into operation on Wednesday 21st October 2026 and will last for a period of 18 months or until the works are completed if earlier.

The works are expected to be completed by Tuesday 10th November 2026. The diversion routes are via Tetlow Lane - A576 Leicester Road.
