St James Road - Temporary Road Traffic Regulation Order
What is happening?
The Council of the City of Salford intends to make in no less than 7 days under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984: SALFORD CITY COUNCIL (ST JAMES ROAD) TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026.
The Order will introduce a road closure on St James Road, between the junctions of Great Cheetham Street East and Pembroke Street, Salford, M7 4XN. The Order is necessary for essential electrical connection works to be done. The order is due to come into operation on Wednesday 21st October 2026 and will last for a period of 18 months or until the works are completed if earlier. The works are expected to be completed by Tuesday 10th November 2026. The diversion routes are via A576 Leicester Road - A665 Bury Old Road - A665 Cheetham Hill Road, vice versa. A copy of the proposed Order and plans of the area may be requested by contacting Salford City Council Street Works team via the email street.works@salford.gov.uk or the postal address below:
