THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(VARIOUS LOACTIONS, RETFORD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2026 (BS26-299)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Retford in the District of Bassetlaw.
The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road
a. A638 London Road, Retford - From its junction of Grove Road to its junction of Grove Coach Road.
b. Goosemooor Lane East, Retford - From its junction with A638 London Road to its junction with Marquis Gardens.
c. Goosemoor Lane Retford - From its junction with A638 London Road for a distance of 368 metres in a North Westerly direction
d. Grove Road, Retford - From its junction with A638 London Road to its junction with Allison Avenue
e. Blossom Grove, Retford - From its junction with A638 London Road for a distance of 25m in a Easterly direction
f. Bacopa Drive, Retford - From its Junction with A638 London Road for a distance of 5m in a Easterly direction.
2. Vehicles are prohibited from waiting, loading and unloading (Both sides) (20:00 to 06:00) in the following length of road at Retford in the District of Bassetlaw :-
a. A638 London Road, Retford - From its junction of Grove Road to its junction of Grove Coach Road.
b. Goosemooor Lane East, Retford - From its junction with A638 London Road to its junction with Marquis Gardens.
c. Goosemoor Lane Retford - From its junction with A638 London Road for a distance of 368 metres in a North Westerly direction
d. Grove Road, Retford - From its junction with A638 London Road to its junction with Allison Avenue
e. Blossom Grove, Retford - From its junction with A638 London Road for a distance of 25m in a Easterly direction
f. Bacopa Drive, Retford - From its Junction with A638 London Road for a distance of 5m in a Easterly direction.
1. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
2. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:
From 20:00 hours Monday 19th October 2026
Until 06:00 hours Saturday 31st October 2026
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be: A620 London Road Retford (All Vehicles) - A620 Amcott Way - A638 Arlington Way - A638 London Road - A638 Great North Road - A1 Twyford Lane - A1 Worksop Road - A57/A617 Five Lane Ends Roundabout - B6420 Mansfield Road - A620 Babworth Road Retford - and vice versa
The Order will come into force on Monday 19th October 2026 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).
The prohibition is required to enable VIA EM on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to carry out Resurfacing and associated works.
