THE A303 TRUNK ROAD (CHICKLADE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (a) intends to make an Order on the A303 trunk road in the County of Wiltshire to allow cable and associated maintenance works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to take place Friday (20.00) to Monday (06.00) commencing on or after 16 October 2026.
The effect of the Order would be the closure of the A303 eastbound and westbound between the entrance to Mitchell Motors Restorations Limited and the turning for JAMS Interiors Vintage Art at Chicklade.
During the closures, traffic would be diverted via junctions of the A303 and local roads.
The closure (which would not apply to emergency service, traffic officer or works vehicles) and diversion route would be clearly indicated by traffic signs throughout the works.
The Order would come into force on 14 October 2026 and have a maximum duration of 18 months.
