(MELDON TERRACE GREENSIDE) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Borough Council of Gateshead proposes to make an Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Meldon Terrace from a point 88 metres north and then southwest of its junction with Orchard Court in a south westerly direction for a distance of 19 metres. The Order is required to facilitate works to replace an existing telegraph pole. The Order will come into force on 15 October 2026.
The maximum duration of the Order will be 18 months in respect of the road closure; however, the works are expected to be completed on 16 October 2026.
During the works all vehicles (except operatives associated with the works and emergency services personnel on duty) will be prohibited from proceeding along the road described above until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. During the works there will be a signed diversion in place.
