Hereford - Multiple Traffic Notices, Proposed Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Loading

NOTICE OF PROPOSAL

HEREFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING, LOADING,

STOPPING AND ON-STREET PARKING PLACES)

(CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2025

(VARIATION) ORDER NO. 12 2026

(VARIOUS ROADS, HEREFORD)

The County of Herefordshire District Council, known as Herefordshire Council, in exercise of its powers under Sections 1, 2 and 3 of Part I and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, proposes to make the above Order, the general effect of which will be to introduce No Waiting at Any Time Restrictions on various roads in Hereford, Herefordshire. These include The Straight Mile, Watery Lane, Whitecross Road, Queens Hill Gardens College Road and Barrs Court Road.

PROHIBITION OF WAITING AND LOADING AT ANY TIME (DOUBLE YELLOW LINES AND DOUBLE BLIPS) RESTRICTIONS:

C1262 The Straight Mile (Northern side)

• From a point of 5m in an easterly direction from the junction between Vincent Carey Road for a distance 210m.

C1262 The Straight Mile (Southern side)

• From a point of 5m in an easterly direction from the junction between the U72023 for a distance of 210m.

A438 Whitecross Road (Southern side)

• From the junction with Guilford Street for a distance of 6m in a westerly direction.

• From the junction with Guilford Street for a distance of 9m in an easterly direction.

• From the junction with Oxford Street for a distance of 7m in a westerly direction.

• From the junction with Oxford Street for a distance of 7.5m in an easterly direction.

PROHIBITION OF WAITING AT ANY TIME (DOUBLE YELLOW LINES) RESTRICTIONS:

C1127 Barrs Court Road (Eastern side)

• From a point of 18m from the junction with Bulmer Avenue for a distance of 24m in a northerly direction.

C1127 College Road (Western side)

• From a point of 35m south of the junction with Venns Lane for a distance of 27m in a southerly direction.

U81252 Queens Hill Gardens (Northern side)

• From its junction with White Horse Street for a distance of 10m in a southeasterly direction.

U81252 Queens Hill Gardens (Southern side)

• From its junction with White Horse Street for a distance of 10m in a southeasterly direction.

U81233 White Horse Street (Eastern side)

• From its junction with Queens Hill Gardens for a distance of 11m in a northeasterly direction.

U81233 White Horse Street (Eastern side)

• From its junction with Queens Hill Gardens for a distance of 9m in a southwesterly direction.

U72016 Watery Lane (Northern side)

• From a point of 216m from the Public Footpath LOB1 for a distance of 118m in a southeasterly direction.

U72016 Watery Lane (Western side)

• From a point of 190m from the Public Footpath LOB1 for a distance of 53m in a southeasterly direction.

U72016 Watery Lane (Southern side)

• From a point of 284m from the Public Footpath LOB1 for a distance of 54m in an easterly direction.

PROHIBITION OF WAITING DURING RESTRICTED HOURS 8AM – 6PM MON - SAT (SINGLE YELLOW LINES) RESTRICTIONS:

A438 Whitecross Road (Northern side)

• From the exit of The Shell Filling Station for a distance of 10.5m in a easterly direction.

A copy of the draft Order, with plan and Statement of Reasons giving more detailed particulars can be viewed on the Council’s website at www.herefordshire.gov.uk in the Proposed Traffic Regulation Order section. They are also available for inspection during normal office hours at the Hereford Customer Service Centre, Blue School House, Blue School Street, Hereford, HR1 2LX. Photocopies of the same may be provided on payment of photocopying charges at the Council.

General enquiries relating to the proposal should be referred to the Road Safety& Traffic Engineering Team at Herefordshire Council (Tel:01432 260512) Objections to the proposal together with the grounds on which they are made must be sent in writing to the Road Safety& Traffic Engineering Team, Hereford Highways, Herefordshire Council, Plough Lane Offices, Hereford, HR4 0LE or by email to Trafficengineering@herefordshire.gov.uk. The deadline for the receipt of objections is 12:00 noon on Friday 16th October 2026. Representations of support will also be received during this time.

Any representations received by the Council may be imparted to third parties. We will keep your data for up to 7 years. Your information may be shared with other Balfour Beatty teams within Herefordshire and Herefordshire Council in order to provide you with the service.
