Medina Road - Temporary Road Closure

Portsmouth City Council (Medina Road) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Prohibition of Loading and Waiting) (No.160) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 12th October 2026 and the effect will be as follows:
A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING
MEDINA ROAD
From its junction with Parr Road to outside No. 178 Medina Road.
At its junction with Winterhill Road.
B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate gas works.
C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 12th October 2026 to 30th October 2026 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding the above, works will take place between Monday to Friday 07:30 to 16:30 and Saturday 08:00 to 12:00.
D) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted from Medina Road, Winterhill Road, Bell Road; and Medina Road, Old Wymering Lane, Halstead Road, Winterhill Road, Bell Road, Parr Road. Resident access will be maintained to Medina Road and Blackwater Close.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works.
Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the works.
