Northamptonshire (Multiple Areas) - Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic

NORTH NORTHAMPTONSHIRE COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
(WAITING, STOPPING, LOADING AND UNLOADING RESTRICTIONS AND
ON STREET PARKING PLACES) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that North Northamptonshire Council, in exercise of its powers under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 19, 32, 35, 35(b), 36, 37, 39, 45 to 49, 51 to 53, 55, 122, 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (‘the Act’), as amended, The Traffic Management Act 2004 (as amended) and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, proposes to make the above Order.

The effect of this Order is primarily administrative in nature and includes;

•   The revocation of all existing Traffic Regulation Orders relating to Waiting, Stopping, Loading and Unloading Restrictions and On Street Parking Places in North Northamptonshire (this includes Corby, East Northamptonshire, Kettering and Wellingborough).

•   All existing traffic restrictions and associated provisions will be re-enacted within the new Order without material alteration.

•   Existing written schedules and schedule plans will be replaced with comprehensive map-based schedules introduced as part of the new Order.

•   Associated definitions and articles have been updated accordingly to accommodate the map-based schedules.

•   All existing traffic restrictions will be digitised and incorporated into the Council’s map-based traffic regulation system in accordance with the Department for Transport’s Digital Traffic Regulation Orders (DTRO) programme.

•   The Order does not make any material changes to the effect of the existing restrictions on site, or to how existing restrictions operate, apply or are enforced.
