Date of Order: 29/6/2026
This Order was introduced because of traffic signal installation works and associated carriageway and footway improvements which were planned to be undertaken 6 July to 7 September but now anticipated to take place from 28 September to 20 November. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding or waiting in the following parts of roads:
i. King’s Head Lane, between the junctions of Mill Street and Middle Street
ii. Lower Street, from the junction of Wheatley Road to outside Mendota House
iii. Mill Street, between the junctions of The Walk and Wheatley Road
iv. The Walk, between the junctions of Mill Street and High Street
v. The B4027 Wheatley Road from the junction of Mill Street to outside Hillside Cottage
The relevant part of the Oxfordshire County Council (Islip) (One-Way Traffic) Order 2025 (as amended) will be temporarily suspended for the duration of the Works. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic will be signed locally.
This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T17086/RMF)
Notice is hereby given that Oxfordshire County Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, intends to make a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order as detailed below:
Nature of Restriction: Road Closure
Location: Green Lane, Chesterton, Oxfordshire at junction with The Hale.
Description of Works: Water connection works are extending into the carriageway being carried out by Network Plus Services LTD.

The anticipated completion date is 07/11/2026 (inclusive)
(Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders have a maximum duration of 18 months for roads, or 6 months for other public rights of way).
Access: Access will be maintained for emergency service vehicles and for properties within the closed section of road where reasonably practicable.
Suggested Alternative Route: Diversion Green Lane, Alchester Road, Bignell View, The Hale, The Green and vice versa.

Nature of Restriction: Bus Lane Closure
Location: Bicester Road, Gosford, Oxfordshire
(Land east of Bicester Road and east of Bicester Road)
Description of Works: Bus Lane closure to demolition a footway, carriageway joint box and rebuild a joint box being carried out by Centercomms.

The anticipated completion date is 30/11/2026 (inclusive)

The anticipated completion date is 03/11/2026 17:00 (inclusive)

Suggested Alternative Route: Diversion via Shipton Road, A4095, A44, Cowells Road and vice versa.
