(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 279) 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for new electrical connection & fuse upgrade, to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Crowther Street, Castleford for approximately 25 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Crowther Street.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: N/A.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 30th September 2026 to 6th October 2026, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(WESTFIELD AVENUE, PONTEFRACT)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 278) 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for new electrical connection & fuse upgrade, to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Westfield Avenue, Pontefract for approximately 30 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Westfield Avenue.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: N/A.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 1st October 2026 to 7th October 2026, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

connection, to be carried out as follows:ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Westfield Avenue,
Knottingley for approximately 30 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Westfield Avenue.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: N/A Residents access to be maintained where possible.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 15th October 2026 to 21st October 2026,
08.00 hours to 18.00 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(WATER LANE, PONTEFRACT)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 296) 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds for renewal of fire hydrant, to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Water Lane, Pontefract. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Water Lane.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Bondgate, Box Lane, Ferrybridge Road.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including
15th October 2026 to 16th October 2026, 19.00 hours to 06.00 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Residents access to be maintained where possible.
