(Footpath 17, Newport) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

Effect of the order: To temporarily close Footpath 17, Newport in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Footpath 18 to its junction with Footpath 4 (Debden).

Diversion route: Footpath 18 (Newport) and Footpath 4 (Debden) and vice versa.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 29 September 2026 to 20 October 2026 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. The closure is required for the safety of the public while major works at Newport Sewage Treatment takes place creating a temporary access.

The Order will come into effect on 29 September 2026 and may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(St Clements and Footpath 86, Thaxted) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

Effect of the order: To temporarily close St Clements and Footpath 86, Thaxted, in the District of Uttlesford, as specified below.

Diversion route: The Tanyard, Orange Street, St Clements, Bardfield Road, Magdalen Green and vice versa.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 5 October 2026 to 7 October 2026 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. The closure is required for the safety of the public while installation and repair work near residential properties are undertaken.

The Order will come into effect on 05 October and may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Chestnut Avenue, Littlebury) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Chestnut Avenue, Littlebury in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 490m west then north west of its junction with London Road for a distance of approximately 55m in a north westerly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 20th October 2026 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (KL701BGK-42-50-201026 – Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd).

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while bridge examination works are undertaken by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd.

An alternative route is available via Chestnut Avenue, Littlebury Green Road, Strethall Road, B1383, Chestnut Avenue and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 1st October 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Newport Road/Sparrowend Hill, Saffron Walden) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close that length of Newport Road/Sparrowend Hill, Saffron Walden in the District of Uttlesford, from the junction with Cambridge Road to the junction with Rowntree Way a distance of approximately 2255m.

2. To temporarily introduce a ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ in the above length of road for the duration of the closure only.

"The Essex County Council (Uttlesford District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above length of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The closure/restriction are scheduled to commence on 19th October 2026 for 5 nights (19:00-07:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2412316/EP201EH2412316A – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure/restriction are required for the safety of the public and workforce while vegetation clearance works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via B1052, B184, B1383 and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 1st October 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Radwinter Road, Saffron Walden) (Temporary Introduction of a 30mph Speed Restriction) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily introduce a 30mph speed restriction in that length of Radwinter Road, Saffron Walden in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 510m south east of its junction with Elizabeth Way for a distance of approximately 350m in both directions. The restriction is scheduled to commence on 19th October 2026 for 15 days, or where stated on valid permit (EP4001336604 – Bellway Homes (North London)). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The restriction is required for the safety of the public and workforce while site works are undertaken by Bellway Homes (North London).

The Order will come into effect on 1st October 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Rectory Lane, Ashdon) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Rectory Lane, Ashdon in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Church Hill for a distance of approximately 90m in a north westerly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 19th October 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX04410336726 – Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while stop tap installation works are undertaken by Affinity Water.

The Order will come into effect on 1st October 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Various Roads, District of Uttlesford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) (No.6) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close those lengths of road in the District of Uttlesford as specified in the schedule.

2. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above lengths of road for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.

"The Essex County Council (Uttlesford District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The works being undertaken will take place within an 18 month period from 1st October 2026 exact dates will be specified on one.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the roads.

(Copthall Lane, Thaxted) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Copthall Lane, Thaxted in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 45m north east of its junction with Weaverhead Lane for a distance of approximately 100m in a north easterly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 7th October 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC311002WH4D2K2D – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while clearance of duct blockages in footway, carriageway to facilitate ducting clearance and spine cabling works are undertaken by Openreach.

The Order came into effect on 17th September 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Little Walden Road, Saffron Walden) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Little Walden Road, Saffron Walden in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 110m north east of its junction with Westley Lane for a distance of approximately 110m in a north easterly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 5th October 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30085892684 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new supply works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

An alternative route is available via B1052, B184, B1051, B1053, B1057, A1017, B1052 and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 17th September 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
