Notice is given that the Council of the City of Peterborough has made an Order pursuant to section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:
The City of Peterborough Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic Order 2026 –
King Street, Lolham, Maxey Ref: 27-201
The effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the road known as King Street, Lolham, Maxey as lies between points 20 metres either side of Lolham Level Crossing. The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above road. The alternative route for vehicles affected by this order is: via B1443 King St, West St, Glinton Rd, Helpston Rd, A15, Maxey Rd and High St. The proposed Order will come into force on the 27/09/2026 and will continue until the railway level crossing maintenance works have been completed or until the 26/09/2027, whichever is the earlier. Closure dates will be confirmed locally on site. It is anticipated that the works will take place between 27/09/2026 and 28/09/2026.

The effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the road known as Tallington Road, as lies between 1 Meadowgate to a point approximately 1270m north. The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above road. The alternative route for vehicles affected by this order is: Barnack Road, Helpston Road, King Street, West Street, Glinton Road, Helpston Road, A15, A1175 and vice versa. The proposed order will come into force on the 28/09/2026 and will continue until the cut and patch works have been completed or until the 27/09/2027, whichever is the earlier. Closure dates will be confirmed locally on site. It is anticipated that the works will take place on the 28/09/2026.

The effect of which is to stop any pedestrian or cyclist from proceeding along the footpath/cycle path known as Etton 3 Section 1 Footpath, for its entire length. The Council is satisfied that pedestrians and cyclists should be prohibited due to works being proposed to be executed on the above footpath/cycle path. The alternative route for pedestrians and cyclists affected by this Order is: Main Road, Helpston Road, Lincoln Road, Glinton 1 Section 2 Footpath, Glinton 1 Section 1 Footpath, Etton 3 Section 2 Footpath and vice versa. The Order will come into operation on the 28/09/2026 and will continue until the pipeline installation works have been completed or until the 27/03/2027, whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that the works will be completed between the 28/09/2026 and 09/10/2026.

The effect of which is to stop any pedestrian or cyclist from proceeding along the footpath/cycle path known as Etton Road to Lincoln Road Cyclepath, as lies between A15 and Main Road (Etton). The Council is satisfied that pedestrians and cyclists should be prohibited due to works being proposed to be executed on the above footpath/ cycle path. The alternative route for pedestrians and cyclists affected by this Order is: Main Road, Helpston Road, Lincoln Road, Etton Road to Lincoln Road Cyclepath and vice versa. The Order will come into operation on the 28/09/2026 and will continue until the pipeline installation works have been completed or until the 27/03/2027, whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that the works will be completed between the 28/09/2026 and 09/10/2026.

The alternative route for vehicles affected by this order is: Lawson Avenue, Coneygree Road, Southfields Drive and vice versa. The proposed order will come into force on the 29/09/2026 and will continue until the cut and patch works have been completed or until the 28/09/2027, whichever is the earlier. Closure dates will be confirmed locally on site. It is anticipated that the works will take place on the 29/09/2026.

The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above road. The alternative route for vehicles affected by this order is: via Glinton Rd, Maxey Rd (Helpston), Maxey Road (Maxey), High Street, Maxey Road (Northborough), A15, Helpston Road (Glinton), Helpston Road (Etton) and vice versa. The proposed Order will come into force on the 30/09/2026 and will continue until the railway level crossing maintenance works have been completed or until the 29/09/2027, whichever is the earlier. Closure dates will be confirmed locally on site. It is anticipated that the works will take place overnight only, 19:00 to 06:00, between 30/09/2026 and 02/10/2026.

The effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the road known as Dukesmead, as lies between the Dukesmead roundabout and a point approximately 10m south. The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above road. The alternative route for vehicles affected by this order is: Benedict Square. The proposed order will come into force on the 30/09/2026 and will continue until the electrical service installation works have been completed or until the 07/10/2027, whichever is the earlier. Closure dates will be confirmed locally on site. It is anticipated that the works will take place between the 30/09/2026 and the 08/10/2026.

The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above road. The alternative route for vehicles affected by this order is: Silver Hill, Hargate Way, The Serpentine, Fletton Parkway roundabout 3, The Serpentine, A15, Hampton Avenue and vice versa. The proposed order will come into force on the 05/10/2026 and will continue until the resurfacing works have been completed or until the 04/10/2027, whichever is the earlier. Closure dates will be confirmed locally on site. It is anticipated that the works will take place between the 05/10/2026 and the 07/10/2026.

The proposed order will come into force on the 08/10/2026 and will continue until the ducting installation works have been completed or until the 07/10/2027, whichever is the earlier. Closure dates will be confirmed locally on site. It is anticipated that the works will take place between the 08/10/2026 and the 09/10/2026.

The alternative route for vehicles affected by this order is: A47, Old Leicester Road, Wansford Road and Old North Road. The proposed order will come into force on the 02/10/2026 and will continue until the A1 southbound closure works have been completed or until the 01/04/2028, whichever is the earlier. Closure dates will be confirmed locally on site. It is anticipated that the works will take place on weekends only (Friday 20:00 to Monday 06:00) between 02/10/2026 and 12/10/2026.
