(TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2026
On the 24 September 2026 the East Dunbartonshire Council made the above named Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of emergency service vehicles, vehicles engaged in the works and those vehicles requiring access to properties and land adjacent to the closed section of road when its safe and practical to do so) on a section of Cairns Drive, Milngavie, between both of its junctions with Hillcrest Street, Milngavie, by reason of works being executed on or near this road.
This Order will operate from 07.00 hours until 17.00 hours, each day, from Friday 9 October 2026 until Sunday 18 October 2026.
Alternative Routes
The alternative routes will be by way of Hillcrest Street, Milngavie, and this route will be sign posted.

(TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY OPERATION) ORDER 2026
On the 24 September 2026 the East Dunbartonshire Council made the above named Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which suspends the existing one-way operation on Hillcrest Street, Milngavie, from a point 75 metres northeast of the extended east kerbline of Hillhead Street to the extended east kerbline of Hillhead Street detailed in Schedule 6 of the “East Dunbartonshire Council (Milngavie) (Traffic Management Consolidation) Order 2013” for the duration of the Temporary Order. This will allow two way operation of Hillcrest Street, Milngavie, for the duration of the Temporary Order, controlled by way of banksmen/ event traffic management operatives.
Temporary traffic signals will be in place on the junction of Cairns
Drive, Hillcrest Street and Hillhead Street, Milngavie, from 5pm until 7am, each night/morning, once the closure has been removed each night on Cairns Drive, Milngavie, each evening.
This Order will operate from 07.00 hours until 17.00 hours, each day, from Friday 9 October 2026 until Sunday 18 October 2026.
