Richmond Road Temporary Prohibition of Traffic

1. The Council of the London Borough of Redbridge hereby gives notice that in order to facilitate gas mains replacement works, it intends to make an Order the effect of which would temporarily prohibit traffic in Richmond Road.

2. Whilst works are in progress, or whilst the authorised traffic signs are displayed, Richmond Road will be closed in phases between its junction with Winston Way and Eton Road.

3. Whilst the prohibition remains in force displaced vehicular traffic are advised to follow localised diversion signs.

4. Exemptions would be provided in the Order to permit reasonable access to premises, so far as it is practical without interference with the execution of the said work and for works vehicles, any vehicle being used in connection with police, fire or ambulance purposes and anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform.

5. The Order would come into operation on the 28th September 2026 and would be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until works are completed, whichever is the sooner.

6. Works would be expected to commence on Monday the 28th September 2026 and would be expected to be completed in phases over an 8-week period. The dates specified are for guidance and informative purposes only and works may extend outside these dates.
