THE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF ST. HELENS (SUTTON ROAD, ST HELENS) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the St. Helens Borough Council propose not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an order under the provisions of Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as Amended), the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in either direction along Sutton between Baxters Lane and Oakmere Road, as and when directed by road traffic signs on-site.
The Order will come into force on Monday 23rd November 2026, and will have a maximum duration of eighteen months, but will terminate on completion of the works, which is expected to be 20 days. The alternative route will be via Marshalls Cross Road, Robins Lane, Peckers Hill Road, Ellamsbridge Road, Worsley Road and vice versa.
The reason for making this Order is to facilitate the replacement of a section of gas main.
