Coombe Road, East Park and Freeland Buildings, Eastville Ward - Prohibition of Driving

CITY OF BRISTOL (COOMBE ROAD, EAST PARK AND FREELAND BUILDINGS, EASTVILLE WARD, CITY OF BRISTOL) (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) (ONE WAY TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

The City Council of Bristol hereby gives NOTICE that on 24th September 2026 it made a traffic order, the effect of which is:-

1. to prohibit any vehicle from entering or proceeding in Coombe Road and East Park between the hours of 8.25 a.m. and 9.10 a.m. and the hours of 3.05 p.m. and 3.55 p.m. on Monday to Friday. The closure will operate during May Park Primary School term days only and exemption will be provided for pedal cycles, blue badge holders, for specified/statutory purposes and for permit holders. Permits will be issued at the discretion of the Council; and

2. to extend the existing south westbound one way traffic in East Park to its junction with East Park Drive.

Note: the existing one way traffic in Coombe Road and Freeland Buildings will be brought forward into the new order unchanged.

The order will come into operation on 4th October 2026 and a copy thereof, together with plans, a Statement of the Council’s Reasons for making the order and a copy of the order being varied may be inspected at the Citizen Service Point at 100 Temple Street, Bristol, BS1 6AG, between 10.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. on Monday to Friday.

Any person who desires to question the validity of, or of any provision contained in the order on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, or on the grounds that any of the relevant requirements of that Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, may within six weeks after the date on which the order was made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
