(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of
i. Guilford Street, Brierfield from its junction with Burnley Road to its junction with Rear 16-32 Ross Street.
ii. Crabtree Street, Brierfield from its junction with Burnley Road to its junction with Church Street.
iii. Rear 2 to 40 Montague Street, Brierfield from its junction with Burnley Road to the rear of 6 Montague Street.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0730 hours on Monday 5th October 2026 until 1630 hours on Friday 6th November 2026 or until completion of the works within this period.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Emergency services access will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. A diversion will be signed locally.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow carriageway and footway improvements to be carried out.
