What is happening?
CITY OF BRISTOL (PERO’S BRIDGE, CITY CENTRE, BRISTOL) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE BY FOOT PASSENGERS AND PEDAL CYCLES) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of Bristol in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an Order the effect of which is to close, temporarily, to pedestrians and pedal cycles that length of Pero’s Bridge which extends from Bordeaux Quay to Narrow Quay.
The Order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public due to a bridge failure on or near the path and becomes operative from 28th September 2026 for a maximum period of 6 months, which commenced on 13th August 2026.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES:
Pedestrians:
Narrow Quay (including Narrow Quay Footpaths), Harbourside Waterfront (around Cascade Steps), Bordeaux Quay and vice versa
Pedal Cycles:
Narrow Quay (including Narrow Quay Footpaths), Harbourside Waterfront (around Cascade Steps), Canons Road, Anchor Road, Anchor Square, Loverose Way, Bordeaux Quay and vice versa
