Public Path Extinguishment Order 2026

The above order, made on 24th September 2026, under section 118 of the Highways Act 1980, will extinguish the public footpath running from Guide, Blackburn shown by a continuous bold line on the order map and described in the schedule below.

The order if confirmed as made, will modify the Definitive Map & Statement of Public Rights of Way for Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council as set out in the schedule below.

A copy of the Order and Map may be examined at the Public Notice Boards outside Blackburn Town Hall and Darwen Town Hall free of charge. Copies of the Order may be purchased at the price of 50p, please make a request to Public.RightofWay@blackburn.gov.uk

Any representations about or objections to the Order together with the grounds on which they are made must be made in writing and sent to the undersigned to be received no later than 23rd October 2026.

If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn then Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council may confirm the Order as an unopposed Order. If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the Order.

A 2m wide footpath from Point A (SD 70715 25691) on Haslingden Road, Guide in a north westerly direction to Point B (SD 70707 25697) then in a south westerly direction along the southern footpath of Spinning Avenue to Point C (SD 70584 25674) then in a generally easterly direction to Point G (SD 70517 25681) on the A6077 via Points D (SD 70566 25663), E (SD 70543 25682) and F (SD 70529 25676).

Modification of Definitive Statement

FP 94A Blackburn (part)

A path 2m wide from the A6077 (SD 70517 25681) in a westerly direction for 26 metres (SD 70492 25674) then in a southerly direction for 84 metres (SD 70506 25594) then in an easterly direction for 12 metres across the entrance to an industrial unit (SD 70495 25589) then in a generally easterly direction along the northern footway of Premier Way for 160 metres to join Bridleway 166 Blackburn at (SD 70354 25572) a total length of 282 metres.
