THE A590 TRUNK ROAD (THE B5277 ROUNDABOUT TO WITHERSLACK - CARRIAGEWAYS) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 09346363) intends to make an Order on the A590 Trunk Road, in the Unitary Authority of Westmorland and Furness, in the County of Cumbria, to enable the dropping and stringing of conductors; to be carried out in safety.

The Order will ban all traffic from the A590 Trunk Road, in both directions, from the B5277 Roundabout to the end of the dualling south of Witherslack.

The prohibition is expected to be in place during a continuous period starting at 18:00 on Wednesday 4 November 2026 and ending at 20:00 on Wednesday 4 November 2026.

However, works may start and continue during subsequent continuous periods or until completed.

The prohibition will not apply to emergency services, works, or traffic officer vehicles. The prohibition will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by traffic signs.
